HSBC mortgage application partner changing jobs

Hi

Yesterday evening we called HSBC to apply for a mortgage given that they ask for 3 months payslips we neglected to inform them that my partner is changing employment.

I've been informed by our broker (who cant offer HSBC mortgages) that HSBC will more than likely perform an employment reference check.

Does anyone know if this is the case even if we supply all the requested documentation?

Also does anyone know if HSBC would appect our mortgage application if we informed them of the new job given a employment contract and that it is around £1000 per annum more than her current job.

You need to tell your lender about any material change in circumstances affecting their decision to lend to you. There's no question about if/could they find out. You need to inform them.

Should there be a probationary period involved, the lender may decline to lend at this time. They may simply decide to continue. If the new contract is permanent from day one, there may be no problem.
