DH has been a saint, he has made a food menu for the next 4 weeks (so I can food budget) of things he can make which are simple (ie. SC stews and curries) just for him and DS to eat. So far he has stuck to the last weeks flimsy plan (Pizza and Spaghetti & Meatballs), making sure everything is defrosted and then making sure it gets cooked when he gets home from work. This is great as I can't eat what they eat anyway
So this week I am going to post DH meal plan for him and DS :T
Friday - Pancakes w/ Lemon and Sugar/Splenda
Saturday - HM Chicken Nuggets w/ Pitta, Tzaziki, Salsa and Wedges
Sunday - SC Chicken Stew
Monday - LO Chicken Stew
Tuesday - HM Pizza and Wedges
Wednesday - LO Pizza and Wedges
Thursday - LO Chicken Stew
I can see he's going to use DS as slave labour in the kitchen to help cook this saturday (lucky DS enjoys cooking). I think DH has got a good menu here!
Good luck to everyone this week x

We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy!

Saturday - out all day - I might treat myself to chish and fips on the way home
Sunday - cheese omelette, HM baked beans and chips (LOs from the chish and fips - there's always way more than I can eat in one go)
Monday - sausage and bean casserole
Tuesday - going out for an Indian meal
Wednesday - falafel and hummous wraps
Thursday - chicken katsu curryBack after a very long break!0 -

Last week went not to plan! A meeting at son's school precluded cooking in Monday so we reheated a stew from the freezer; our children successfully argued that a month of sticking to plan meant they should get one takeaway and that therefore it should be Tuesday when Pizza Hut pizza is bogof; meaning that everything moved back two days and we're sorted to tomorrow. This week is freezers and cupboards again, with a special line in reducing the Cabbage Mountain; new groceries Friday morning I hope.
Sunday 27: coq au vin with frozen chicken thighs and a degree of cheating (based on a Guardian article called the Perfect coq au vin); new pots and broccoli;
Monday 28: LO ham/pearl barley/cabbage soup/stew; bread
Tuesday 29: tinned salmon & asparagus quiche (recipe off internet), more bread;
Wednesday 30: Lahana Firana (Turkish Cabbage bake) using the extra bit of lamb that was on a special with the stuff we got for the scouse and the Turkish cabbage! Perhaps Bulgar wheat and mushrooms to go with this because I think the dish won't be quite substantial enough on its own. Should generate half for freezer.
Thursday 1: slow cook the red cabbage, mince hotpot from freezer
This means that my kids will only have ended up having cabbage four times in a week, counting today. Mostly well disguised though.Make £2023 in 2023: (all decluttering), current total £2860 me, £330 for friends & family, £468 charity donations.0
