Monday 21st November What Small DFW Things Will You Do Today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D
Morning all!
Very expensive weekend away just before payday so living like a pauper this week I think! Was v enjoyable though!
Today I will:
Check banks
Check CC
Check Paypal
Check TCB
Package up sold Ebay items for postage tomorrow
Update MS Money
Tweak next month's budget
Ring college to check when exam this week is - thought it was Wed, might be Tues - eek!
Part car share to work - still have to drive c.15 miles each way but hey, every little helps!
Breakfast/lunch/tea from stores
2lts water
NSD
Work hard!
Have a great day everyone!

I've told myself that I will not use my credit cards again, unless for holiday spends, but only up to the amount i have to pay it off or grocery shopping-as I buy off the internet. No more buying because of a sale, for items i didn't need ect. I'm also going to wash up all unwanted clothing and get my son to photograph these items for ebay. I need to try to get them on for the weekend.Great thread and good luck everyone

Hi everyone.
Thanks for getting us going KJP and welcome Traveller.
Well I had an appaling weekend at work, very long shifts where lots went wrong.. After I finished my main job (which at the moment I hate) at 10pm last night I came straight to my bank job (which I love) for an overnighter and till 5pm tonight so i'm pooped!. Still the money earned from my bank job this month will pay to tax my car in December.
Todys list of small things:
Will take my client out this afternoon for a walk to the Post Office so I can post my Ebay parcels!
Transfer money from Paypal into bank and pay off Barclaycard.
NSD apart from postage.
After work dash up to Mums to feed the cat as they are on holiday and while i'm there grab a couple of bags of stuff from my old room to sort (keep, charity shop or Ebay).
Tea will be stir fry using last of roast pork and veg from freezer.
Get some more bits listed on Ebay tonight.
Check Onepoll throughout the day.
Take dogs for a good walk.
Early night!0 -
Morning everyone. Got a parking ticket yesterday. I spotted the sign that said free parking, but didnt read the bit about having to display a ticket too. My own fault, there were plenty of signs, I just didnt read them properly.
Pay day on Friday, so really struggling for cash this week.
Today I have/will
Showered using toiletries brought back from my hotel recent hotel stay
Used some cereal that the kids dont seem to like, as otherwise it would just stay in the cupboard until it goes stale
Free newspapers on the train
Charged phones on the train
Send phone off for repair
Checked online banking
Call council about paying parking ticket
Low spend lunch
Dinner from stores
Submit expenses
Have a great day everyoneDebt free since December 2015. It can be done0 -
My efforts today:
1. Clear laundry and in process picked out 4 items to put on eBay that have sat in my wardrobe unused.
2. Decided 2 items I bought from Next online sale can be returned - gives me back £24! LOL.
3. Trying to use up old marmite with breakfast toast before I buy a new one - nearly there!
4. 12 of 13 items selling on eBay have watchers but so far only 4 have bids. They end tomorrow. Hope I get enough money to make it all worth it.
5. Not at work at mo so saved petrol for a few days!
6. NOT buying anything online.
7. Only 1 or 2 more days of my moisteriser before I have used it up and can start making inroads into my toiletries stash!
8. Checked card and account balances.0 -
