    This Aldi has no Reviews!

Click here for a Sony 40" TV for only £340. Excellent Reviews. Full HD. Freeview HD. Internet access via Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi.
  • Not sure if I can be bothered to jump through all the hoops to get the cash back. Why not t just offer a bottom line price? I can't be bothered with messing about so I'd rather go to Aldi and buy theirs. If it is no good they'll take it back.
  • i wonder how many they will have In stores ?

You have to post a cashback claim form. Oh the inconvenience of it all...

Find it at a cheap price (Try Richer sounds) and then John Lewis to price match it for a 5 year guarantee.

Then wait for the cheque, then remember to chase it up, then chase it up again... :D

Plus you've got to have a big difference in your pockets to start with £449

FWIW I wouldn't buy the Aldi TV either it's probably cheap tat lol

The Sony usually sells at near £500 & has proven performance to match. It's a chance to obtain a genuine bargain than performs far above it's current price.

For what to expect from the Aldi deal, see the article on Supermarket, own-brand & low cost TVs in Which? November 2011. 'We advise against buying a cut-price TV. Often, you'll be throwing your money away on inferior products'. Examples...

Bush Superslim 32" LED. Score 41%

    John Lewis JL23LED. Score 45%

    Technika 32-56. Score 36%

The minimum score for Which? 'Best Buy' status is 65%. Price is excluded from rating criteria, so the score reflects performance irrespective of price. Supermarket TVs perform poorly in reviews, & it's no use claiming they're ok for the price, because they're not ok.

A 3 year warranty is poor compensation for an inferior product.

I think under some circumstances it IS ok to claim it's ok for the price like when it's for a bedroom/kids room/kitchen then performance doesn't come into it quite so much as it does for a living room/main tv set the biggest driver under those circumstances is reliability and price.

I wouldn't spend £500 on a TV for the kids room but I might spend £199 on a cheap 32"
