Function Room Prices - What's reasonable?

Hello All,
I'm hoping you can help me.
I've fallen in love with 5 star boutique hotel, to hire it's gorgeous function room, which is truly stunning and something i've not seen before it's £1500 Sun-Thur.
Now, i've suggest to OH that we have a Sunday, as most people will be off work, if this fits with the church, if not we'll have another day in the week - as it'll be summer people can take hols from work. We'll be giving them a years warning!
Anyhow, what i want to know is, is £1500 purely for room hire unfair or is that about what you'd expect? It's the most expensive one to date, some have been free others have been £1k.
Thanks in advance,
Alipops x

I think it depends on whether it fits in with your budget and you think it's worth it! Our venue hire is only £500 which I think is very reasonable considering how lovely the place is lol. However, I think if we were paying any more it would perhaps feel like 'empty' money. A place I used to work at which did weddings was £1500 for the venue hire (that was about 4/5 years ago so not sure what it is now) so I don't think it's unusual for them to be so expensive!0

Ours is officially 1500, but they do alsorts of deals and we got it for £750. It;s not an outrageous amount of money, but can be a big chunk of the budget....of course it depends how much they charge for their other services too."More people would learn from their mistakes if they weren't so busy denying them." - Harold J. Thanks folks.
It includes quite a few things:
Master of Ceremonies
Good quality tables/chairs
Red carpet
Use of wedding car
Linens/cutlery
Set up on the day
It is a chunk of our budget, will bring in the food/venue about £5250, this doesn't include the church, suits, my dress etc. So we'd be looking in the end to be between 8k-9k, which is about 2k more than we'd anticipated but i'm honestly in love with it! It has the wow factor, definately. Plus, i'm willing to save every penny of the 1500, i don't expect anyone else, other than us, to have to extend their contribution.
That said, i'm going to have to work on the parents and my OH a little. So far, my research is going well, alot of places charge at least 1k for function room hire around us.
Thanks again,

Ours is £1500 venue hire, but again includes various things like entry to the zoo for our guests, table linen, stationary, disposable cameras for the tables etc etc so its not too bad. If it is 'THE' venue then I would say go for it if you can.0

Try negotiating. Ours was £600 and they wouldn't budge. They did, however knock £400 off the final estimate once my OH had haggled like crazy!
MeganMay GC - £100 per week
Week 1 - £120/£100 , Week 2 £110/100:o, Week 3 £110/£100:mad:, Week 4 £50/100Week 5
DFW - March '13 - c/c £5600, April £4500, May £2500 :T0 -
My venue is charging us £1500 for a Friday wedding but this includes a ceremony room and the reception room. We did get a discount of 10% though so I would try asking!0

My venue hire is £300 which includes Master of Ceremonies, table linen and cutlery and set up on the day, the chair covers are £2.75 per seat and although I think they finish the room off it will cost over £200 for the day guests and the other half is not convinced it's worth the money.
The function room is a basic room

Definitely worth it, that's very very cheap for such a big room!
We're paying £250 for a small room in Hotel du Vin, nothing included, and £750 for a couple of hours in an old Victorian house (only fits 30 people)!
