So should we send the darkies back where they came from or just make sure they don't have access to meaningful jobs? This is important!

In my opinion, employers should be free to employ whoever they wish and just get on with making a go of their business.

That's right! Your planned soviet economies worked so much better, didn't they comrade?

PwC says its own research suggests 90% of local authorities it surveyed believe they have achieved their planned savings in the past year without an adverse impact on local communities.
But it says 40% still lack solutions for more than half of their funding gap between now and 2015.

I bet if you'd have asked them a year ago if they could cut their budgets on target without harming services they'd have said no, & lo & behold they manage it.

The 40% that still haven't come up with a solution should be fired and replaced with people that can.

That a little rich seeing as you pretty much accused someone of racism for suggesting diversity coordinators are not really a necessary part of public life.

It seems there are some strong views on the role of diversity co-ordinators.

I don't know if our local council has one. Can anyone tell me what their job is?

Prmarily to put minority interest groups to the front of the queue rather than employing the best person for the job.

Odd how some seem to think that reducing staffing level automatically means a reduction in service. Very often not the case. (Especially in what most agree has been a pretty inefficient public sector).
