Ok, Have made HUGE Chicken casserole in Slow cooker

Options
Now, am I ok to freeze half of it? Is it ok to freeze cooked chicken? And if so how do I go about reheating it? Should it be defrosted first or could I warm it up from frozen? Don't want to end up making us ill!!

Thanks.

Yes, I would freeze it. I always defrost fully before reheating, then nuke it in the MW until piping hot

I reheat from frozen in the microwave, which is one of these ones which has a temperature sensor with an option of heating from frozen. It automatically calculates the time and temp it needs, and obviously you need to just double check it is heated all the way through at the end (it always is though) It tends to take about 10-12 mins for a portion for 2 from frozen and I would guess this is at full power (700W for my machine)

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Defrost in the fridge - near the top where it is "warmer" - NEVER AT ROOM TEMP - and re-heat to 82 deg C - if you have a thermometer - dirt cheap on ebay compared to the cost of loo rolls & toilet cleaner if you get a dose of food poisoning!
