Hi sparkle, I'm pretty new too and have also decided to get some guidance from here. Everyone is v friendly and helpful, so don't let it get you down and take it a step at a time. I've put my SoA on here and have had some very good advice already, so I recommend that's where you start.

OK, if you are paying 20 gas a week, then that is far too high. Are you on a key meter. some of us pay about 25-30 per month. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I pay £20 a week as a have debts with them to pay off...i have a meter some goes on the actual gas and the rest is debt.0

Hi, would it be possible to get a part time job to get some extra income? £50 also seems a lot on 'shopping' per week. What does that include? Do you smoke? Do you get all the benefits you are entitled to?0

hi, here is a link to martin's article on benefits you are entitled to. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/viewnews.cgi?newsid1047513100,1583,
you can gets tips on how to reduce your grocery bills on the old style board of the forum.TH0 -
You really need to try to reduce the £50 pw on shopping.
Have your local CAB carried out a benefits check for you?
Also CAB could help you to set up a payment plan for you with your creditors.
