Hi Ineedaname,
I was discharged in March 10th, 2006 and this afternoon got a shock of my life when Halifax decided that all the money that I claimed from ppi they are going to send to the official receiver, is this legal? I cannot believer this after a lot of hard work , I am really gutted. Is there a way around this. The thing is, there is note on my credit reference showing this and I was also informed that after 3 years my credit file will be clean, is this true too? I need guidance.

perfectly legal i'm afraid...any PPI claims from accounts included in bakruptcy belong to the receivers who dealt with your case
your credit file will show bankruptcy for 6yrs not 3...We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -

I am still not sure this is right, Bankruptcy in April 2005 and discharged March 2006, what this means was that I do not owe them any more since the house was actioned and then Halifax got their money back plus the others. So why is Halifax sending the money to official receiver.0

Because as DI's sticky explains it belongs to the OR and not you. When you went BR all your accounts/loans etc were vested in him. They do not belong to you any more.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

I presumed that "the others" were other charge holders on the property, not other creditors in the bankruptcy?
Or was there actually enough to pay more into the estate?Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
