in Loans
Hi, i have a loan that i defaulted on in 2001. This loan has since been transferred to another company and i have been making the monthly payment ever since. however in the last three months, i heard nothing from the company - they were due to send me another paying in book. I rang them because i didn't want the arrears to build up. According to the person on the phone, my account had been closed with no explanation and that i had 'vanished' from the system.
So what do i do? do i pester them to sort it out so i don't suddenly get slapped with an arrears letter? Or do i leave it and hope the debt (£2700) is gone forever?
Advice would be nice! anyone else experienced anything like this?

Just a thought.... get them to confirm in writing that you have no debt with them. So if you suddenly reappear in their system and try to enforce it you can wave that letter at them.
Not sure of the legal implications of your situation though.
Good luck anywayRetired in 2015.

They may have sold it on and deleted the records. Definately get something in writing.
