Origami gift bags- from 2 squares fabric

I have searched this thread and without reading every single post with the word 'gift' in hope this particular idea is a new one. Please merge it etc if not!

I made one of these bags in a craft class-can't find it- but it held a chocolate orange snuggly- maybe the fabric squares were about 10 inches. You can make them from about 4" squares upwards. wrap a special gift, use instead of crackers..etc. we sewed little flowers onto each ear or petal, but I have also seen little bells sewn on. Very , very easy to make- can be hand stitched but machining would be quicker! Mine had much smaller petals...
have found the instructions here

Thank you for that link Katiehound. What a lovely idea for a different way to wrap a present. I'm definitely going to make some for small Christmas gifts for my 3 granddaughters.0

Glad you liked it!
They were just so easy. You get such different effects from using matching tones or contrasting colours and also deciding which will be on the outside.
I seem to remember being told that you could make these bags using voile or gauze and can get a completely different look. Your sew with wrong sides (if there is such as thing) facing and then fray the edges. Perhaps it was to make a herb / oatmeal bag to hang in the bath. I should have taken notes -probably would have mislaid them!!
*I managed to get a couple of cheap rolls of thin ribbon from a charity shop (very cheap) If you have a Boyes or Yorkshire Trading store they have bundles of precut ribbon oddments @25pence in their haberdashery section which are ideal*Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
