consumerdirect.gov.uk says "a trader who mistakenly prices a product (for example, “28 inch widescreen television for £39.90” instead of £399) is not obliged to honour that price unless the transaction has already been completed. The trader must nevertheless take immediate steps to rectify the mistake."
After having a laugh at the irony of the example, I e-mailed them to ask whether they would deem the transaction complete once they have debited the card. Will let you know when I get a reply.0 -
I doubt watchdog will get involved.

P.S, did anyone actually agree to the Terms and Conditions ?
I don't remember clicking a button or ticking a box
good point i did not tick anybox did not ask0 -
LoL, thats awesome and proves that we are correct.0

But their T & Cs actually conflict plus they do not define which are Terms and which are Conditions. With my limited knowledge of the law one carries more clout than the other. Perhaps they should have got their legal team to draft them instead of cancellation emails.0

LOL here we go again.I have emailed them with reference to saying I understand that a contract was made when money was taken out of my account.I had an email saying they were out of stock etc and 20 minutes later saying the order was being processed and the monies taken from my account, thus rendering the contract of agreement between me and yourselves as quoted in your own terms and conditions
1.3 By way of clarification, an acknowledgement of your order will be sent to you via e-mail when you place your order, but acceptance of your offer to buy the goods will not take place until after your payment is taken and you receive your acceptance.
I received an order confirmation (included payment) followed by Order
Acknowledgement.
I now clarify if you broke the contract or where indeed where the
law defines when a contract is legally binding.
(thanks shrek)
