I've got an Online Savers account with Yorkshire Building Society. Applied online and it was set up and running within a week.
I believe other folk have had success with other accounts/banks, but this one's fine for me. Around 2% interest on the account.
Congrats on the AD and ED btw lol0 -
Well done on your AD:) I have to agree with rocketman here, YBS for me as well, don`t think the coop will give you one but you never know.:pB&SC No. 298

I was discharged in April 11.
Today I decided to try & open a savings account with the Chelsea BS. I went onto their website & made an online application for an 'ESaver Reward' savings account. I swear within less than 5 minutes they had opened me an account & deposited £10 in said account from my debit card...Fantastic!
I chose the Chelsea because
1. Members on this site have previously commented that they are sympathetic towards bankrupts
2. I checked out who owns the Chelsea just to be sure I didn't go BR owing them or their subsiduaries any money
3. I have heard/read that the Chelsea are looking to develop discharged bankrupt friendly mortgages, so saving on a regular basis with them can't do any harm!
Hope this is helpful.0 -
Co-op have their own savings account....with online instant access.
However, apply by phone, and immediately warn the adviser that it will be refused, due to the BR..they then appeal immediately, and it will be set up.
I have been told they will do this even whilst undischarged. No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -
Well done to you both! Good luck in finding an account to save your hard earned money in

I still think its madness that they credit score savings accounts. It's a bit like, 'do you want my money, or not??' I opened a saving account with alliance and leicester - now Santander. Santander have also given a current account - Co-op are still saying no until the default drops off, so it's bye bye to the co-op. Shame, because I really like banking with them.BCSC Member 70:j
