Sorry, I have looked in the Index, and searched but can't find the recipe I want. It was made from butter and cocoa and icing sugar melted together in a saucepan (I think). I did write it down but have lost the piece of paper

Lizzy, you've got the ingredients right but not sure about the quantities. I rarely weigh or measure ingredients (unless baking of course). I don't do mine by heating, - just soften the butter, add the icing sugar and then cocoa powder (or coffee- by adding a bit of hot water to dissolve coffee powder - or lemon/orange juice or whatever flavour I want)

They look good, but I remember heating butter, cocoa and icing sugar in a pan and then finding it was too thick so added some milk. I'm sure I found it on here - but can't find it anywhere!0

The recipe i have (from DD1's school)
 100g Sugar
 120ml milk
 50g butter or marge
150g chocolate (broken into small pieces)
melt sugar with milk over low heat. bring mixture to the boil then simmer for 2 min. Take pan off the heat and stir in the chocolate and the butter. Cook the mixture for another minute and keep stirring. leave to cool and thicken before spreading.

I've just made a chocolate sponge cake and want to find a recipe for a chocolate fudge icing similar to the type you get for pud in American style diners. Googling brings up so many different icing recipes - some use cocoa, others melted chocolate, some you even have to heat up in a saucepan. Has anyone got a tried and tested recipe they could recommend please?0

It's only a bargain if you were going to buy it anyway!0
