Hello stranger. Thanks for the tip about the Hospice (my favourite chatity and the shop in Rubery is where I deposit my possessions and get chatted up:rotfl:). Sorry to hear about your OH being made redundant - let me know what he is looking for and I will keep my ear to the ground.
Just had a little rant - I rang Virgin (gawd their customer service team are dreadful), I spoke to an American girl who really was obtuse and really frustrating. I said that I was moving and was told that I would be charged £30 to move, I said that I wanted some prices for services but she couldnt really give them and told me to speak to someone else in customer services - I am afraid that I lost the will to live being on hold. I then had the bright idea of contacting a chap called Steve who had visited my flat sometime ago - he is arranging to move everything and that the phone will have evening calls as well as weekend calls that are free, the broadband speed will be faster and I will be charged £27.35 for 6 months and then £37.35 after that which is less than I pay now for BB, TV and free weekend calls. Dealing with him is so much better and I know that I will be without services for a week because I have booked an installation for 7 July between 8am and 1pm. Why can't all their staff be like him - polite, informative and co-operative?0 -
Breathe Horace Breathe...be calm don't get ratty.
Last Friday I was advised to contact the potential employer with some additional details about my training (this is what my advisor at R*mploy had been told) so I set about redoing and resubmitting my CV. It turns out that this is not what they wanted at all instead wanting a complete and comprehensive work history going back to the time I left college. I have done my best but literally cannot remember everything that I did and certainly not for the time that I was temping because I must have had over 400 assignments in the space of 2 years:eek:
I am having a bad day - I missed my catchup with my advisor at R*mploy too which was supposed to take place today, I need to make another appointment when I am in there tomorrow morning. I can do without all this to-ing and fro-ing this week. I still have my applications to do including two jobs from last week and two she told me about.
I think I will have some hazelnut choccie and a mug of coffee...and breathe and relax....0 -
Feeling a tad sick - my tummy is jumping like a frog. I was out last night at a meeting, the dinner was nice (roast pork with trimmings), however the dessert was not so, it was a lemony gloopy thing which was probably far too rich because as soon as I had finished eating it I started to feel unwell. This morning I feel as though I have been hit by a steamroller as my head is fuzzy, I am sniffy and my stomach is not very happy:( I have rung Remploy to say that I don't feel well enough to attend - I don't want to be standing around waiting for buses as today I feel as though I should not venture far from the loo:(
I still have lots to do including two applications that need to be submitted via email before 5pm tomorrow.
Right now i feel as though I am unravelling with the amount of stuff I have to do before 30 June. I promise that when I am in my new home I will not have clutter and I will do house work every week.0 -

In my quest to become debt free, I have today paid my visa card off in full to the tune of £414.83:j I tried to put some money into my cash isa but got the message to say that £1000 would exceed the amount for this tax year - the isa has nothing in it. When I get my next instalment from ex then I will open an isa elsewhere. To finally be free of that card is a relief. Now I need to continue to work on the Amex card and clear that (I have some breathing space until August with that one).
I know that I will need about £400 in cash to pay the removal men.0 -
Yah to another debt gone :j

Just Amex left as he who will not be named is not getting any more money out of me because I cancelled the order for breach of contract. He passed off an istock image as an original piece of work for which he charged me a bespoke price (£250 plus VAT) instead of £6.05 for the cost of the image. I only discovered this when a local firm started using the same image so a bit of research later and a whole host of firms in the UK and abroad are using the same image so it certainly wasn't bespoke and therefore unusable.
I have erected a packing box and am now putting books in it but I think it is too heavy so I may leave the books to them next week because even with about 20 books in I cannot lift the box myself:( Time to erect another box and put lighter stuff in like clothes and shoes. I need more parcel tape too.
First though I will have some coffee and a sit down before starting again.
In an attempt to reduce the amount of food in the freezer - two chicken breasts are defrosting, I will cook them up later and serve one hot with veg and the other will be sliced for sandwiches.0 -

I have packed my shoes into a box and sealed it up (sensibly I have left out one pair of heels, a pair of sandals and the boots that I am currently wearing - everything else is in the box:D I am packing slowly - I feel a bit worn out so may go and have a nap in a mo or at least a sit down with coffee in front of the goggle box.
It is odd looking at my bookcase as the shelves are virtually empty although I still have some hardbacked books to pack away and a few more paperbacks. I have just realised that I still have my Bonjourno Italia books from when I was studying both O and A level at the same time (I just didnt take the exams).
I seem to have lots of rubbish bags filled with rubbish though which I have yet to take down to the bin.
Must also sort stuff to go onto freegle.0 -
