I spent most of yesterday at my parents having lunch and a cooked dinner - I came home with a large cooked chicken breast and some peaches. Mum keeps trying to palm fruit off on me - maybe she thinks I am not eating enough?
    here
I told her about the shenanigans with the landlord allowing all and sundry letting agents arrange viewings and just enter folks' flats without permission from the tenant. I can now store stuff in Mum's garage. 4 bentwood chairs taken today along with a load of under shelf baskets. It was pointed out to me today that I should take my limited edition framed photographs, my cameras, my jewellery and any other item that is worth money home to be stored in the garage (garage is warm and dry).

Having surveyed my flat since I have started the packing it now looks even worse with bags, boxes, crates and piles of stuff everywhere - so stuff the letting agents when they come aviewing the place will continue to look like a tip (only a more organised one).:rotfl: In an attempt to keep the flat cool - I have closed all the blinds and live in semi-darkness which suits me (actually more restful on my eyes).

I have decided to take the afternoon off packing etc as I do not want to strain my back too much - it was bad enough trying to flatten the seats in my car which caused more pain:(

Oh and dinner tonight will be sirloin steak, jacket spud and leafy salad.

I thought you had to be given 24 hours notice of people coming round?

Sounds like you are well out of there. Now that you have given notice to quit, what will you do if the house isn't completed in time? Stay at your parents short term?

The mns thing sounds great. Really hope it works out for you

I didnt bother with dinner last night as I couldnt be arrised with it. I will have dinner tonight though.

I spent last night on the sofa watching the Jubilee Concert - how I wish they had focussed on the Royals a bit more because some of them were quite comical, I would love to have known what made Zara laugh so much when that dreadful Grace Jones was on in that rubber outfit and her hula hoop:eek:

I was supposed to be packing today but instead I have devoted my day to the Queen. I can admit here that I had a bit of a blub several times and tears were streaming down my face during the flypast...as my granddad would say "you soppy a'pporth". I have kind of made a start on my bedroom - I need to sort out the floor which tends to be a dumping ground. My flat looks worse with boxes everywhere.

Nobody gets notice around here of when viewings are planned - the landlord just hands keys to the letting agents who let themselves in at will. My flat is the only one that is furnished by me all the other tenants rented their flats furnished but still my landlord seems to think that people can come into my flat at will:mad: I will be so glad to leave here as I hate the place with a vengence and feel that it has caused me to be ill. I know that I never had bronchitis until I moved here and each year bar this one I have had bad bouts of it (due to all the drug wafts no doubt).

I shall move in with my parents if the house move doesnt go through and all my stuff will have to go into storage. Fingers crossed that the vendors have stopped playing silly b*ggers and that they exchange. Any furniture that is left in there will either be used by me or put onto freegle, and I can contact the council myself about the bath chair.

Wowsers - I was tinkering online earlier and found a website that allows me to ask for quotations for my move, so far I have received two calls. One chap has quoted already but he will put that quote in writing but he has told me that my landlord cannot enter my flat nor can he give out keys to my flat for agents to view as they please - if I find someone in my flat then I should call the police immediately because my landlord is breaking the law.

I was thinking that a professional firm maybe better than my chums as I may decide to move mid-week which will be difficult for my chums to get time off work. A mid week removal will be cheaper than a weekend one.

I guess I am surprised that despite it being a bank holiday that firms are out there working and are not afraid to provide quotations for removals.

I suppose with things being so bad, people are prepared to be flexible and work all days/hours to try and get money coming in.

I think nowadays that many small firms and one-man bands cannot afford to take a bank holiday.

Quotes are coming in thick and fast as I have had another call today from a potential removals firm. I must ring the letting agents although I may be sneaky and hope to catch them in my flat as I have a plan:rotfl:

I attended the eye hospital this morning and could only call it organised chaos as they have introduced a new waiting system - whereby you have to gewet a ticket and wait for your number to be called only people don't see the signs and if they do they are looking for the machine - I didnt see the machine until a nurse pointed it out to me.

The appointment went well and my eye pressure has reduced to 14 but I still need to keep taking the pressure reducing drops until a month before my October appointment.

In other news, I have an interview tomorrow for a part time job - a job that I would love because it means talking to people on the phone and being polite. The job is working at a local firm who provide eyewear online - a place that I could walk to at a push from my new home or I could get the car (walking wise it would take me about an hour, but 5 mins in the car). My interview is at 2.30pm tomorrow in Redditch (I hope I don't get lost).
