Oops, the bank account has taken a hammering today

First I needed to get petrol (in budget), and that was £43  (usually about £25 but was nearly empty), then I needed to buy some black boots for the winter for work before meeting the ex at 11 ... anyway, I managed to buy 2 pairs of black trousers in m&s sale, reduced to £9 each, and they fit nicely :T, a tan leather handbag in M&S reduced to £35, a nice charcoal grey jumper in Jane Norman reduced to £9.50, and a hoodie in Hollister for £40
I did put back the perfume I wanted too, which was another £35, maybe next time
Coffee in costa was £2.50 and the car park was £7.00 ... time to get some money made I think, oh and not one pair of boots tried on  Oops!!!
Other news; the ex and I managed another 3 hours conversation marathon, we seem to be making up for the last few years over coffees
Todays meeting was to discuss various scenarios and what will happen re. ds depending on the sentence he gets. It was all fairly amicable again, this time I've come away not quite so positive as last time but overall its still going in the right direction I guess
He did ask me to do a character reference for him in terms of the affect this could all have on ds, I said I didn't think I could do that. I will give it some thought but I think it is asking a bit too much considering everything thats happened. Mortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

And thats before I even mention the money I spent yesterday on £50 for some proskins leggings

(they may go back
), £10 on a brown goose down gilet in the Lands End sale and £14 on some charcoal grey trousers from there too
Note to self ... stop spending!!!
and find some boots from somewhere very very cheaply :rotfl: Mortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

Hi Benben, good to hear you've been treating yourself to some lovely new clothes. I bought some great flat black boots in Brantano the other week, don't know if you've got one near you, but on one of the hottest days of the year, I was there trying on winter boots!0

I'm a lurker who has been following you for some time and really respect you for the great job you are doing. :T
I had wondered if ex's sudden change in level of interest in DS is due to hoping that it will help him to get a lighter sentence? The above quote rings alarm bells in my cynical mind. Sorry, if I am out of order in suggesting this but I would hate to see you having any more grief than you have already had.But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0 -
That was exactly my thoughts too Tricia, for 6 years we've hardly been civil let alone amicable, now suddenly he wants to meet up for coffee  I did say that to him, and he said its fine if I don't feel happy about doing it, he still wants to be amicable ... I just think its asking too much to expect me to do it, and also I genuinely don't know whether it is harmful to ds if he's not around or not

I collected ds from holiday club at 5.30 and popped round to mums, he was fine when we got there, then was a bit floppy on the sofa, and by 7 we were home with him tucked up in bed with a raging temperature, feeling sick, shivering, and is now almost asleep
Looking like an indoor day tomorrow then

Poor DS
Fevers come on so quickly with little ones, don't they, hope he feels better soon and you both get a good night's sleep. I agree about writing the report for your ex, I wouldn't get involved. 0 -
Ds was asleep by 8 last night and his temperature went down at about 11, he slept through til 7.45 this morning, and now feels right as rain

Today we're heading into Bournemouth to hunt for the 50 lions that are around the town
Nice free entertainment, fresh air, lots of walking, good times
I still feel uneasy about yesterdays meeting with the ex, on reflection it seems like he's asking for more involvement in ds life, wants to know more about his school, his behaviour, be more involved in terms of knowing whats going on, but not actually contributing anything financially or supportwise ... I will call him today and discuss how I feel, thats what we agreed we would do if we have questions rather than letting them fester :cool:Mortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

Sorry to sound very cynical but it sounds like his solicitor has told him to find out as much as he can about DS's life so that they can play the infringement of DS's human rights to have a father card if ex goes to prison for too long.......be careful hon0

Hello Benben
I have to say I don't like your ex so this is bias but I would be uneasy re conversations and info about DS. I agree with KK I am afraid.
The thing is in all of this only you know what that man is truly like and if he would be so manipulative as to use your son as a way to solve his problems.
Sorry Ds was ill as well, glad he is better now and you guys have a good day
xxxNevertheless she persisted.0
