Your welcome
So if your paying say £100.00 to a credit card with a high rate of interest then once that is cleared, because you are used to paying that amount you then transfer that payment onto another debt plus the original payment that you were paying so £100 + £5.00 = £105.00 and work your way through the list. :T
Hope this makes sense.

Hi MoneyMax,
Thanks for visiting my diary. I just spotted yours and thought I would welcome you.
Sounds like you have a big amount of debt to shift and I wish you all the best. You have a positive attitude to it
Does your amount include a mortgage or is it all unsecured debt?
BF is right you need to tackle the highest rate first and then work your way down. I am almost at the point of paying off my first card and then paying off the second one next year. It takes ages but will be worth it in the end.
Good luck and I have subscribed to your post to see you achieve your target.Halifax CC £1029/£2490, Tesco CC [STRIKE]£0/£3203[/STRIKE], Tesco loan £15431/£15808, Carloan1 £6743/£8241, Carloan2[STRIKE] £0/£3813[/STRIKE]

This is all technically unsecured debt! We have a mortgage each and were both have equity in the properties, currently going through the courts process to get respective ex partners to agree to having no interest in the properties (ongoing). In the future we are going to release some equity from each property to pay off the biggest debt to OH's brother...see below. xx
Hi, thanks for stopping by. The ammount is £20k of my debt and the rest is my OH's. £5.5k of my debt is from putting a new section of roof on my rented out house and paying of my IVA full and final settlement, the rest is a joint bank loan secured onto my mortgage left over from a previous relationship, a loan I didnt want and didnt see much benefit from.
£30k of my OH's debt is to his brother who helped him out massively when he was getting custody of his son. £12k of solicitors fees for custody case, debts and CC's his ex ran up then transferred to his name shortly before they split (she cheated on him). And cost of living for when she wouldnt let him live in the house he was paying for, he had to rent somewhere close by to be near his son.
I could get Peed off and rant all day about how unfair it all is but ive got alot more to be thankful of than to be peed off about!!!
Thanks for following me on our mega journey to debtfreedom, it sounds like such a lovely place to be xxx
Ill follow you too xx0 -

Hi MoneyMax I thought i'd check in & have a look at your diary! You're doing really well! I'm impressed!
What I'm finding hard is trying to find a balance between paying off the debt & just 'living life'! My boyfriend is keen to go on holiday (he has no debts & has even cleared his mortgage) and while I could afford to go, it will mean not paying so much towards the debt and I don't want to lose my momentum! On the other hand lifes too short! Arrrh it's a difficult one!i wish my bank account could keep up with my Rockstar Lifestle! :cool:0 -

Hey Rock Star thanks for popping by xx
It is a tough one, but they way we look at it is yes we want to be debt free but not to the detriment of our happiness and wellbeing. You could be debt free but get hit by a car tomorrow or be struck down with som godawful illness.
The balance is not to cut out everything completely but to be frugal, my new key word! My new rule is that i never buy anything, eat out, have a day out or have a holiday unless there is some kind of discount/voucher code etc....carry on with your life but just do it in a different way!!
Maybe you boyfriend could treat you to the holiday and you get some cash together for spending money??? Whatever happens talk to him and explain what your trying to do and maybe you can go bargin holiday hunting?? There are planty of last minute bargains o be had xx
We owe ALOT of money, we know that and were working towards paying it off. But we also want to have a baby next year and debt will not stop us having our life. Our rules are keep paying off debts, dont take on any more debt and live within our means!!
Good luck
xx
Hope this helps and doesnt sound like a load of old rubbish!! ha ha0
