Hi all,
It has just occured to me that for the first time in numerous years _ well about 20ish I think we have been really sensible.
We have put the dend of decembers paycheck into a seperate internet account and havent yet spent any of it.

I've spent most of mine! I've paid off credit card bills that normally would have waited until the end of the month though so I haven't overspent too much. I do need to keep to a VERY strict budget in January though :-(Debt at highest May 2006: £27,472.24

I used £10 of mine but I got paid only 3 days earlier than normal and OH will still be getting his on the normal date - the last day of the month so that will be Friday. It hasn't really made any difference to us.Debtfree JUNE 2008 - Thank you MSE:T0

Well I did wonder if I should make some early payments etc, but then thought that if I broke into it we'd problably lose the discipline and spend much more, lol
well done on being so disciplined, and good luck in January.

My pay check is still clearing, but bf's has gone into the joint account and we haven't gone into it yet.
My aim this year was to just spend what was in the joint account for Xmas and not use a cc, so although we have saved no money this month and only have £25 left (not include £10 for groceries), I'm quite proud that what money we did spend was our own and nowt went on the ole cc!!Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Oh I wish they wopuldnt pay us early, It must cause real problems for so many people. We both got paid on 22nd, and while I'm paid weekly he's monthly and wont get paid until the last day in Jan now. I dont know if and when I'll get paid because I am casual - might not get a paycheck in january which is scary. Just depends on how much works there is.

I can understand why people find it hard when they get paid early in Dec, but my bf hasn't had his LBM and he asked me to take £200 out of his account to cover when he finds he hasn't got any money left in January. It's sitting in a internet savings account.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Decembers pay went in a week early, on 21st. I haven't spent any yet, but a lot of it is 'spoken for' in Direct Debits which will go out before the next salary goes in on Jan 27th. I'm aiming to spend the bare minimum for the next month and anything left over can go towards my debt. I had to update my siggy this morning, in the wrong direction, having taken account of pre Christmas spending. I'm very disappointed, as really should have been well under £9K by now. I need to get back on the wagon sharpish.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0
