proof of income ...national insurance contributions ??

hi all..
i have an ongoing case with csa arrears conversion..csa hav asked me for proof of income going back as far as 1993, however iv been told at tax office they can only go back 6 years..so i cannot get hold of the income details ...however i do have national insurance contributions records for the years in question...i would like to know if csa could use this info as proof of my level of income at that time ?? has anyone else been able to do this?

They will use what is known as 'best evidence' so in theory there is no reason why not if it is the only info they have - you have nothing to lose in asking them to use it.

Not sure they use "best evidence" unless it goes to court.

You won't get the CSA knocking down the figures, no chance.

They will fight tooth and nail for you to provide the details and keep this away from the courts if they can.

They know if it goes that far, the CSA would have to generally accept the courts findings on what is owed> It is often much lower than the figures they are chasing on an IMA
