Hi - just seen in Argos online clearance section - a Sony Ericsson W205 mobile phone with £60 worth of Orange credit loaded onto the sim card (£10 every month for six months) for only £30.

Apologies if this has been listed before but it seems like a very good deal to me ! Don't know how to post a link - hope someone can help out, if they would.

How does the £10 topup a month thing work, do you have to use the sim in this time or could you just leave it in the drawer for 6 months, then £60 should be on it?

  • Hi,
Thanks for this, picked mine up this afternoon. Checked details carefully and it is as good as it seems. In fact it's better as the £10 a month credited, if you choose the Dolphin plan, also gets you 300 free texts a months and internet access.
    Thanks again

I assume there is nothing stopping you buying the phone, and then selling it on E-Bay or similar, but keeping the SIM for the 6 month credit for £30?

They go for £10 or more on E-bay (obviously less fees etc.) CEX will give £5 for the phone.

Thank you very much Lisa45. You are a star!
My first mobile phone bought and up and running by tonight according to the call person. He told me I have to wait 24 hrs.
I have read all the T's&C's, and I understand that usually top ups every month are lost if you don't use it up but not 100% sure whether it applies to this "ready deal".
Also if I don't top up after the 6 months is up I lose use of the phone, but, if I top up again after 6months, I get to use it for another 6months etc.
By the way it only cost me £15 because I had £15 argos vouchers!
    Win, win, win really.:T

I'd be curious if you have to use the time up each month or not, too. I have a Tesco pay as you go, and the money doesn't expire if you don't use it in a month, so it would be good to know how this one works.
