The Guardian - FREE Glossy Print Music Portrait
Music portraits from the Guardian and Observer photo archives.
We've unearthed the best of the Guardian and Observer's pop and rock portraiture. Don't miss your free, glossy prints in the paper.
Thursday 9th June: Elton John and Take That
"The best portrait photography lets the subject's personality shine through." So says photographer Desmond Muckian, who features in a unique series of glossy photographic prints published in the Guardian and Observer from Saturday 4 June.
Delving into the Guardian and Observer's archive of rock and pop photography, we've painstakingly chosen 14 images that do just that – from Val Wilmer's very first publicity shots of a tentative-looking Elton John on Hampstead Heath, to Colin Jones's fresh-faced Mick Jagger captured mid-morning in a north London flat with Marianne waiting in the wings.
Commissioned by Guardian and Observer picture editors, this collection of images represent a cross-section of musical talent. With Saturday's paper you'll find Jane Bown's classic black-and-white shot of the Beatles ("How I came to be there, I haven't the slightest idea, but they didn't seem to mind me," she recalls), paired with Alex Sturrock's shot of a Medusa-like Adele peeking out from behind her duvet on the cusp of international fame.
For a snapshot of our musical tastes and talents, and a peek into the Guardian and Observer's fascinating photographic archive, collect all 14 images, free with each day's paper for a whole week.0 -

Hi,
Does anyone have any info on the Tesco £5 voucher offer in the mail. Also I noticed in Nudge's post it mentions a digital radio offer, does anyone have any more details, is it a PURE dab? Would it be too late for me to start collecting tokens now? Thanks0 -
