help with HFO

hi
sorry ive posted on the end of this thread, but could not find were to post a new thread
i received a letter from hfo about a debt from welcome finace that i had in 2002,i am sure that this debt was paid of when my house was sold in 2005, so i sent them a letter saying i disputed this letter and if i did it would be statue barred anyway , they sent me a letter back saying that it was not statued barred till 3/11/12 as i had made a payment on the 3/11/2006, wich i know i did not i do not have any paperwork regarding my house sale or the debt that was paid with it as i have long since moved house variose times and bank account changed, there is nothing on my credit file from welcome finace
i have sent them a prove it letter with a £1.00 postal order requesting a copy of my credit agreement, amd a full breakdown of my account and a deed of assisignment, yesterday they sent me a copy of a letter from welcome finace saying that on the 3/11/2006 welcome sold my account to hf0 services, strange how the date im surpose to have made my last payment is the day that welcome sold my debt
hf0 have not sent me a copy of my credit agreement or a breakdown of my account
please can some one tell me were to go from here

HFO are clearly lying when they say you made a payment in 2006.

Honestly, I would ignore the stupid idiots.

If they actually went to court then you would demand that they prove the payment to the court, and they clearly wouldn't be able to do that.

I can't imagine for one minute that they would go to court though.

However, please report the harassment and lies from HFO to the Office of Fair Trading, as the OFT are currently looking into whether to take HFO's licence to collect debts off them.

So it's important to complain to the OFT about HFO whenever you can.

This is how HFO work. They're the worst of the worst of all the debt collection agencies, and I speak from years working in Debt Management.

If you didn't pay, then just ignore them. They'll claim interest & charges are going on, but if it's statute barred and not even on your credit file, then it will do nothing.

You're free to do whatever you like. Normally I'd recommend against being rude to them as they're normally just regular humans doing their job, but with my personal experience of HFO, I'm a little hesitant to give them that title.
