They probably charge you for the consultation, then book you in for your 'free' treatment or something. Honestly, I've no idea but it does sound dodgy to me.I've been lucky, I'll be lucky again. ~ Bette Davis0

Sorry, but also sounds dodgy to me.0

Well probably dodgy in the "sale must end this Sunday" sense - as you say £200 off what?
Not very well targeted if you don't wear specs though - probably just bought a cheap spammers list instead of paying for real one... (that alone makes it worth avoiding).0 -
Thanks.
To be fair to them though how would they know if i wore glasses or not if i just entered their comp?Darren0 -
You probably wouldn't enter the comp if you don't need glasses. It's a scam I think. I've "won" from them before - they give you a nominal amount of money off but you'd still have to pay out loads for the treatment.0

It's not a scam. I received an email at the end of October as a result of entering the October 'competition' (in reality just giving them my details to get the info pack sent out) along the same terms. I had to book my consultation by so and so date and have treatment before the end of November to qualify. I had my treatment about 3 weeks ago now and have gone from being incredibly short sighted to having perfect vision.
The consultation is free and there is absolutely no sales pressure. I couldn't fault the professionalism of the clinical team, it's not 'dodgy' at all. It is a lot of money: £800- 1600 per eye depending on what you have done - but for me it was totally worth it. I was pretty sure I was going to have it done anyway but the money off was an extra bonus!
NB It's worth checking out if your employer has an agreement with ultralase - they do 20% off for employees of a lot of companies. Details (along with an absolutely excellent chat forum) are on their website - just google ultralase.
Also, kicking around on the forums here somewhere are details of getting reduced price treatment from Optimax via Ebay - something that sounds dodgy but is totally legit. For me though, Ultralase just came out tops and i didn't mind paying the extra - I only have one pair of eyes after all!0
