Conditions of entry

1. The prize is a seven-night holiday for two people to Ecuador and the Gal!pagos Islands, and includes all meals and soft drinks onboard the boat. The prize does not include alcoholic beverages, transfers to the airport in the UK, the Gal!pagos National Park entrance fee or spending money. Inoculations and visas are the responsibility of the winner.
2. The Gal!pagos National Park entrance fee is not included in the prize and must be paid locally by the winner and their guest ($100 per person payable locally in cash).
3. The Gal!pagos Islands are serviced by two airports. In the event that one of the airports is closed for maintenance, cruises will be organised accordingly. The cruise itineraries have to be lodged with the port authorities months in advance, but all are subject to change without notice. These changes are often small, and may simply imply a change of sequence or substitution of one island or location for another. In these circumstances no compensation will be paid where a Gal!pagos itinerary differs from that confirmed.
4. The winner of the holiday must book their travel by 1 August 2011 and travel between 1 July 2011 and 1 March 2012, excluding 18 November 2011 to 2 January 2012 and subject to availability.
5. Once the trip is booked and confirmed, any amends to the booking will be at the winner’s cost.
6. The winner may be required to submit valid identification before receiving their prize.
7. The winner must comply with and is responsible for attending to any inoculation and health regulations or visa requirements required for their destination.
8. Passengers must ensure that they have a valid passport and travel insurance at the time of travel.
9. Journey Latin America’s standard terms and conditions of travel apply and can be found at journeylatinamerica.co.uk.

11. You can enter if you are a UK resident (including the Channel Islands), aged 18+. Employees of the BBC, and Journey Latin America, their families or any agencies or person connected with the promotion may not enter.
12. When you enter the promotion, you agree to be bound by these rules and agree that if you win, we will publish your surname and county.

14. Only one entry permitted per person. Entries made in bulk or by third parties are prohibited.
15. Entries received after the closing date will not be considered and won’t be returned. The winner will be the first entry drawn at random after the closing time.
16. There is no cash alternative and the prize is not transferable. Our decision as to the winner is final.
17. Winners will be notified within 28 days of the closing date. A list of winners can be obtained by sending an SAE to Lonely Planet Magazine, 2/D1, Media Centre, 201 Wood Lane, London W12 7TQ, within six weeks of the closing date.
18. We reserve the right to change these rules or to cancel, alter or amend the promotion if circumstances arise beyond our control.
19. If we can’t contact the winner within one month of the closing date, we will offer the prize to a runner up, or re-offer the prize in another promotion.
20. We exclude liability to the full extent permitted by law for any loss, damage or injury occurring to you arising from your entry or your acceptance of a prize. The promotion is subject to the laws of England
