charges on mortgage arrears

Please could anyone help. Over the last ten years through a lot of hard work and good house prices we now have four rental properties. Unfortunately we got into arrears in the mortgages and the company Rooftop mortgages are threatening to employ a company to take over the rental of these properties. When we have looked into the arrears on these mortgages more than half of the arrears are charges. What can we do about it, if anything. Any help would be appreciated.

As they're "rental properties" as in BTL, you're a business and so consumer protection laws don't apply. So it would be just like any other contractual dispute between two businesses; if the two sides can't reach an agreement or compromise, then it goes legal. Find yourself a solicitor with the neccessary expertise.
