Knowing if you've defaulted

yeah I'm just going to settle it and be done with it... plan to not take out any credit for as long as possible anywayLife is too short not to love what you do.0

Just a quick aside to this point by the way.
I have a default on my file, which was recorded 13 months after I went into arrears on the account.
I'm fighting it at the moment on various technicalities, and the DCA are already sending me letters saying they need more time etc.
So yes, looks like you (and I) slipped under the radar for a while, so it definitely can happen. Only difference is you were able to find out about it, whereas for me it was 2 years later that I discovered this existed (ex partner, ran up card i forgot to cancel after we broke up, joy).Debt free, moved, got new stuff for the new flat - got everything I wanted and need - now just saving.0 -
haha, excellent - go us... hopefully! Think it helped that I never missed a payment before then... oooops! Doh for not cancelling the card - my ex also won't pay half of this even though he still actually has the dongle

Yeah, I have high hopes of removing this default actually, we shall see. Not sure about yours, good luck though.
And well, he can play with his dongle as much as he likes, at least you don't have to anymore!

so I rang o2 who confirmed that the amount due was £157.38 but the debt was with Morecroft now so I should call them to pay... so I did
Turns out the actual sum is £171.54 as apparently o2 have added another £14 for the priviledge! Nice... so they will have to wait for me to raise another 14quid out of thin air!Life is too short not to love what you do.0 -
Its with moorcroft? Seems very odd that there is no default - which credit agency did you check? might be worth checking the others first just to ensure there isn't one on there before you make the payment.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0

I checked Equifax. There was the o2 bill on there, would Moorcroft take out a seperate thing? as they said they've had it since Feb...Life is too short not to love what you do.0
