Apparntly i Owe Money

Hi

i have never had any credit the only things that go out of my bank account on a monthly basis are orange & virgin media

I went to take out an ipad yesterday on finance and i was declined by comet and 4 other companys

I have never had problems with taking out contracts etc so i thought whats going on here so i went down to my bank and they said everything is fine this side.

So i did an experian report which gave me all my financial information and credit score, apparntly it says outstanding debt £96 i have no clue what this is and how long its been there as i have not taken out anything in a while.

Back in march i was made redundant and struggled to pay my iphone contract as i had more important bills to pay with my job seekers allowance.

but i cancelled my direct debit and managed to pay my bills before i was actually cut off.

experian will not tell me who this debt is from and my credit is in the very poor category for some reason

how can i find out theres got to be a mistake the only problems i had was with the bank santander putting me into an un arranged overdraft which i had to keep paying up would this have anything to do with it

Thanks

  • Hi, your credit report should show the information against each bank / lender etc - it should therefore show which company the amount is against, the date of any "missing payments" etc.

think the iphone none payment will effect you
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
