Pimms O'Clock

Good Morning,

I am planning my 30th birthday that is in July and have decided on a 'Pimms & Puddings Afternoon Tea' theme.

I have a few cocktail recipes from the Pimms website that are
Pimms Original, Pimms PimPom, Pimms Ginger, Pimms Royale, Pimms Deuce, and Pimms Iced Tea.

But now I am stuck with pudding and food ideas, I though lots of mini puddings perhaps strawberry jam tart and summer fruit meringues and tiny sandwiches, filled with cucumber, egg and cress, salmon and cream cheese etc.

I would also like to have a few traditional garden games maybe croquet, quoits and skittles, oh and also any music ideas please, I have lokked at Dreamboats And Petticoats would this be suitable?

If anyone can share ideas and suggestions for food, drinks and activities I would be very grateful, look forward to hearing from you x

I went to a Pimms Royal Wedding day celebration and the hostess had made lots of different small puddings (labelled) for guests in glasses this included eton mess, English trifle, Pimms jelly, trifle, lemon mousse. I had made some fairy cakes, iced them with buttercream and topped off with rice paper personalised cake toppers (ordered off ebay) and had displayed them on a disposable 3 tier cake stand. The savory items put out before the deserts were pin wheel wraps and sandwiches. I personally think you can't beat Pimms served in a jug with lemonade, ice, mint and fruit.

You could also have a jug of sangria as well as pimms, the easier version of sandria is ´Tinto de Verano¨ (red summer wine but you could use white) red wine , add a dash of martini if liked, ice cubes, add lemonade to taste.

For food ideas how about looking at some of the posh london hotels that do afternoon teas and adapting to your budget (and capabilities!)

    The Dorchester
    The Ritz
    The Goring

Music for afternoon tea says to me classical but for your 30th that might be a bit 'old' ;) At the very least I would say that you want relaxing music to make some background noise whilst still being able to talk to people. Not sure about the games!
