Those with DMP's

Options
Hello all,

So I have decided to start a DMP with the CCCS. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how helpful/responsive their creditors were with the plan? Did they keep ringing etc after a while? I owe money to HSBC, Barclaycard, Shop Direct Group (Additions and Great Uni) and Provident.... Have also included Creation finance as we have sofa's on credit and always pay them. Anyone who has included these creditors with their DMP's, did they accept? Many thanks for any knowledge/advice :o) Trying to stay positive, its hard but I know I have done the right thing!

    Hello,

I don't actually have any of the same creditors as you but in answer to your question about phoning, mine stopped after about 3 months. I got a flurry of calls and letters after 6 months and a year but the plan was reviewed and all agreed again to the same amounts. The only other time I got a lot of calls was at Christmas time as owing to the public holidays, some of my payments were sent late by my DMC (well they were sent on time but arrived late) and I got a lot of calls until they had cleared.

Best of luck with your plan,

    Jules

I have shop direct (two accounts) but they are not accepting as yet. Have kept paying £25 per month to each as I said in my letter

Most of my creditors accepted the DMP Payment, but HSBC are a nightmare. Did not accept the DMP and passed it on to their debt collection agency..

Conversely HSBC were ok with me (bar a error on my credit file once the dmp was settled - but this was quickly resolved)
Here to offer help and advice, and maybe take a little in return.

Whilst I am happy to share my knowledge, I am in no way a professional... I can not therefore accept responsibility for inaccurate info, I ask that you take professional advice rather than rely totally the info provided by myself
