It's the yeast....Panny problem solved

I have had my lovely Panny for about 3 years and never a problem loaf - ever. last time I bought yeast I got Tesco's own, and every loaf since has been not-quite-right: lopsided, not properly risen, huge holes etc etc. If I'd always made loaves like that I wouldn't love my Panny nearly so much. So today I bought some Allinson's - which is what I used to use, and what I have just let out of the pan is a 'proper' loaf, tall, fluffy, crusty. I am now sure it's the Tesco's yeast (because I haven't done anyhting else different) and I shan't be using it again. Just thought I'd say, in case others are having Panny failures because this loaf is a proper Panny triumph again. Phew !:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I find different yeasts can make quite a difference to the texture and the taste.

I have only had my Panny for a few months and I have used Allinson's yeast from the start and all my loaves have turned out perfectly.

I have never tried any other yeast,so I don't know if the results would be different, but I don't think I will risk it.

I've been using Tesco yeast and although it was fine to start with I've found the last few loaves I have made with it have been awful and flat and I have a MR breadmaker.
