We've made our own cake topper! *Photo*

Morning Everyone
My fiance and I have been looking at personalized cake toppers on the internet and we saw a sheep one that we really liked but it was £60  After having a look on ebay we found out that we could buy fimo soft clay at £1.70 per pack inc p&p. We ordered 5 different colours and after a couple of hours this is what we made:

We didn't have to buy any special tools, we just used a sharp knife, a cocktail stick to support the heads and a piece of glass to work on. Neither one of us had ever used fimo before but it was very easy to use. They took half hour to bake in the oven and it was a lot of fun to make them together as a couple :Da%3E

They look really great, can't believe the other you saw was charging £60! Maybe you should turn it into a business idea :)

  • they are really good! they look like they are straight out of a shop, i agree with fishfins, you should turn it into a business :)
  • They are adorable! I love them! We spent quite a bit on our cake topper, but it was custom made to look like us, and out of clay, so we're going to keep it in the wedding keepsake box afterwards. You could start selling them, on Ebay and Etsy/Folksy and stuff. Especially the latter two, people tend to overcharge on there so you would have a price edge over them :)

Thanks everyone! You've got us thinking now, we've still got quite a bit of clay left over so we might try and make another couple and see what kind of response we get on ebay or etsy. They were a lot of fun to make although i wasn't happy when my fiance made my sheep too fat!
