Doesn't paying it off feel good???

Hi everyone,
Like many others I lurked on here for quite a while, thinking 'oh I really need to knuckle down and pay off my debts', so when new year rolled around I resolved to finally do just that.
I owed:
HSBC Graduate overdraft £1500
Capital One credit card £1,250
Virgin credit card £1000
Anyway three months on and through gritting my teeth, planning well and keeping my resolve, I've slashed £600 from my overdraft and I haven't bought anything on my credit cards.
The point of this post is, I never knew paying it off would feel so good - every time I make a payment I feel a bit happier, like a bit more of a weight has been lifted.
Who knew paying it off would feel so good?!
I'm hoping to plough through the overdraft payments and make some headway on the credit cards before the year's out.

I know exactly what you mean
made an overpayment on my Very account last month & was on a high for a few days after! will be clearing my capital one balance at the end of the month, plus the remainder of a loan, so i'm guessing i'll be walking around with a big grin on my face throughout May! wish payday would hurry up and get here!

Feels brilliant doesn't it!
But with 4 weeks left until payday and all major payments made am having to be more creative with saving or making cash to pay off more
Just dumped 21 items of unwanted stuff on ebay.... fingers crossed!!
Good luck with paying it off0 -
Fantastic. Gives me the boot to keep to my new spending plan .0

I completely agree - its a great feeling :j
I have just yesterday paid off the last of my Very account and am currently feeling very smugbut whats most surprising is how determined I am to stay above £250 available in my account so that I can pay it straight off the devil Vanquis card next month :T
Well done to everybody else too :T:T:beer:0 -
Fab
I have payed 4 off so far and it does feel so good.
The Coucil Tax bill came and there where no previous arrears. That is a first time on 4 years. It felt v v good.
Should get rid of another two small ones this month.
The large ones are still v v large, but at least they are not getting any largerSealed Pot Challenge # 1040 - Doing well0 -
I completely agree that knuckling down and getting things cleared is the best thing ever.
Natwest £1500 - paid
Lloyds credit card £500 - £125 to go
Overdraft £500 - paid
Graduate - £1500 - £550 to go
Total owed £4000, total paid £3325.00, tatal left £675.00
It is tough and I have gone without a hell of a lot but it will all be worth it in just two months when everything will be cleared. I can't believe after all this hard work there is a light at the end of the tunnel.0
