Looks like I completely fell off the wagon after looking at my finances. Might look at trying to get a balance transfer for my Credit cards, as they are getting to the end of the 0%.
Going to not panic too much, but plan what I will do.

    Current status:
    CC 1 £3k
    CC 2 £2.6k
    Car £4.3K

    = £9.9k

I need a plan to halve this by christmas. Any ideas?

  • Don't think I am in a position yet to be offering any advice on how to cut debt.

Would you have to make a significantly higher payment than you are doing now each month to halve it by Christmas?

I already have planned what I can spend on debt payments, but need to rustle up some more money to pay off more.

  • What have you tried so far? Have you tried ebaying old clutter that you don't need anymore? Opinion/Survey sites? Cashback offers? Did you say you work in a collage? Can you do some private tutoring?

ps - don't know if I missed it somewhere along the way...but any baby news?

    Hi Rainbowneeks,

I do survey sites, cashback, Ebaying and exam board assessor marking. I won't do private tutoring because of insurance and having CRB checks. I also work 9-5 most days, 9-8 once a week after the New Year until May. And I devoted the weekend to spending time with my children who only see me after 5.30pm every day unless it is the 8 finish in the new year.

No news on the baby and am still waiting for AF to happen.

Morning all. I am feeling a little under the weather currently. Have a virus that is making me burn up and feel dizzy, as well as stomach cramps (which may be because time of month is due). Didn't go to work yesterday because of feeling like carp. In work today though and feeling slightly better than yesterday.

Had a funny message from my ex last night asking if I was ok, because DD had told him I have "Blue Cancer." Not sure what she means by that lol, but will be having a chat with her tonight.
DS is back today from his school residential trip and should have had loads of fun.
I cannot wait for the weekend to try and recover from this bug and spend time with my kids.

Huge period pains yesterday and today. Feeling knackered and sorry for myself.
Weekend came and went far too quickly.
DD had heard my OH say something about me being ill and she misunderstood and thought he said Blue Cancer. No one knows how or why. But issue sorted out.
Falling off the MSE bandwagon again with spending. This time it is food shopping rather than a new TV or vacuum, lol.
Really need to save money though to cut my credit cards.
My bank is being extremely un-MSE atm and has upped my credit card limit and also offering £1750 overdraft facility. Think they like me in debt :( I am fighting the urge though and will keep lowering my debt. Really wished I had used this forum before I ran up this amount of debt.

Miserable weather again. Another long day at work until 6pm. Counting down to the weekend already too. Got so much to do this week and so little time.

    Plan for today:
    1. Get my lesson planning done for today, tomorrow and Thursday
    2. Eat lunch
    3. Quick and easy tea
    4. Spend time with kids
    5. Sleeeeeep
