webbilling.com ltd

Can anyone help. My son has had £125 taken from his Halifax A/C by DD. Halifax say it is a company called Webbilling .com. He has spoken to them but they refuse to say who they are acting on behalf of. He does not owe anyone money and did not consent to the DD. Halifax don't want to know and say it is a dispute between him and Webbilling but have cancelled the DD. How does he get his money back as it is obviously a mistake but neither Webbilling or Halifax will do anything. He's worried they will try again next month and he is struggling to make ends meet already.

    yep, thats for porno websites.
    busted!
  • Thanks for the info but my question was how does he get his money back. He did not set up the DD nor consent to one being set up by Webbilling.com so regardless of what they collect money for it was taken without consent. Is Halifax responsible for letting the money go or do Webbilling have to refund because they did not have his permission? Is there some sort of official body or ombudsman or something you can contact in these cases? Thanks
  • I've just checked my last two months bank statements online and found I've lost £42.45 (initial payment) on 13/7/11 and then on the 18th they took out £84.95 - total £127.40.

I have not signed up for !!!!!!! Nor do I recognise Webbilling as a company. I'm only here because I Googled them and found you guys.

Now to phone my bank. Natwest.
  • I now realise that the money was for an online computer game, World of Tanks, and as such was a legit transaction, though why it had to be marked as Direct Debit I don't know.

Natwest were excellent in they way they handled my 'claim' and it was embarrassing to have to go back to them and tell them it was my mistake.:embarasse

I should note, having read the title of this thread, that the name on my statement was 'webbiling.com ltd' One 'L' not two.
  • i had a DD with web billing they got me overdrawn with me bank absolute joke dont trust them
