Received an Alert from Equifax and I'm confused!

Hi,
I have a payment plan set up with Cabot to repay a CC (See sig below) and whilst trying to get my financial life back in order I ordered my online credit report with Equifax and it all seemed pretty good considering the mess we had stupidly got ourselves in.
However today I received an email alert saying there had been changes to my credit profile so I've logged in to see what they are and it says that Kings Hill (which I didn't know where part of Cabot until a few minutes ago) have added then deleted and then re-added a credit agreement to my file.
I can only assume it's the CC as whilst looking back at all my accounts held on file it does not show on there.
Due to ill health I defaulted back in Sept/Oct 2006 and as my husband was taking out an IVA and the creditors wouldn't accept my CC with the help of National Money Helpline I sorted out a DMP with them which I have defaulted on since.
I wrote to them in December to inform them of a change of address which they acknowledged in January - could this just be follow up?
If they put the original default back onto my account will it start from the current date or be back dated? The reason I ask is in 2009 all of a sudden I started receiving loads of calls which I managed to stop and then a letter stating that due to a change in the law they now had to add a default to my account even though I'd been keeping up with repayments - it was just a formality and did not effect my agreement with them.
I probably haven't really made myself clear but I'm in a bit of a muddle and confused!

Hi
If putting on a default then it should remain the same date as the previous default - if it doesn't then you can complain and get it altered.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Thank you!
Reading it back I seemed to ramble a bit but that's just how confused I was!!
I originally defaulted in 2006 yet they waited until 2009 to say they now would have to register the account as default even though it happened way before then. Not sure if that is fair or correct?Cabot (0%) left to pay £2455 let the overpayments commence!0 -
A default need to go on within a specified time, cannot remember if it is 3 months or 6 months of the actual default.
Did they send you a default letter?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Once I've put my daughter to bed I'm going to dig all the paperwork out and have a proper read. I believe they did send a letter just before the end of 2006 regarding a default notice.
They definately sent a letter in 2009 stating due to a change in the law they now had to register the account as default - at the time I thought it was strange as I thought it was already default but it my naiivity (sorry sp!) I didn't look into it further.
Will report back in a couple of hoursCabot (0%) left to pay £2455 let the overpayments commence!0 -
Have you tried calling them just to confirm?
Cahoot did this recently to me - said it was because they were now part of the Santander group and effectively they would be changing the company name on the default but everything else including the date would remain the same.
I would recommend that you keep an eye on your credit file to make sure this is issued correctly - they ended up putting mine on twice (one in each name) and am now trying to get them to correct it.
Might also be worth getting both Equifax and Experian credit files - this error only shows on my Equifax file.0
