Lost Deeds

Options
Hi

My inlaws have inherited a house but cannot find the deeds. The Building Society posted them to the owner before he died. Every effort has been made to locate them to no avail. What would be the best way to sort this out?

Any advice would be appreciated

Paper deeds are no longer needed for a registered property. Everything is digital at the Land Registry.

Thanks for that. The only thing is there was a dispute regarding the size of the garden with a neighbour in the past. The computerised deeds might not reflect this

Do you know which solicitor dealt with the garden issue?

That would be the best place to start.

Ok thanks . They do not hold the deeds as we have checked but they did deal with the original dispute.
    Thanks once again
