Dollys' Discombobulated Debt

Hi Dolly,
I just wanted to say I think you are amazing! Its an inspiration to see how far you have come in a relatively short space of time. It's not easy at times, but you should feel proud of what you have achieved so far. :T Changing our thinking and 'default' setting (ie spending urges!) takes time, but then it takes time for us to get into debt too. You have done remarkably well at following the MSE path, so hold on to how far you have come when you're feeling a bit flat.
I love the idea of keeping track of your goals.
Good luck ebay. It's great when they have a free listing weekend:)
Take care, and hope you have a good day x0 -
I have cheated a bit but I have relisted 51 items nothing new hope to do that tomorrow, hope your ebaying is going well.

Thanks Pink Angel, you are so kind and thoughtful. I think its easy just to focus on all the negatives, but we forget all too quickly not just the big changes we have made, but the small everyday things that we are now doing that all make a difference to our situation. Your journey has been amazing too. Hope that you are able to be kind to yourself too?

I love this diary, it's always so positive! Followed your lead Dolly and listed nothing on ebay this weekend as I just couldn't be bothered (know I'll kick myself next week though!). Hope everyone has had a good MSE weekend. Just watching Benidorm, love it, it's so funny.
Have a good week Dolly and enjoy your romantic date tomorrow2012 Saving challenge £1000/£400! Woo! :wave:0 -
ahem,
despite all my good intentions re ebay etc for yesterday, spent the day at the pub with lovely friends, who bought us lunch (it was delicious), then a great band on until 7pm so we had a great afternoon singing and dancing. On way home, friends invited us in for coffee and lovely liqueurs. So a great day, (suffering for it this mornng!) but not very MSE! I enjoyed every minute of it so will let myself off, just this once

oh dear, not been a very good week MSE wise so far, have taken my eye off the ball, as have been v busy at work with a few evening meetings.
Have spent on lunch at work Monday and Tuesday, and a few treats which i definitely do not need, my waist is expanding by the day. It is also costing me extra money which i should be saving, so back on the spending diary I think.
Have had acknowledgement from my bank of my PPI reclaim forms, so will wait to see what happens with that, I was so nervous of doing this at the outset, but as everyone on here said, it really is a numbers game for them. Who knows may even get some cash back!!
Not heard anything at all yet from Egg card, but will give them another week then send letter 2.
Just off now to makes some homemade soup, and biscuits for my lovely OH. I have either gone insane, or this MSE business has got me bad, i have become mother earth. Should be studying as have my first essay due in shortly! So next couple of nights will be spent doing this.
Hope everyone is having a good week and a thrifty one, I also think will go back on the NSD and weekly spend challenges, these really helped me not to spend.

Hi Dolly
I'm glad i'm not the only one who hasn't had a very MSE week :rotfl:I have stuck to my grocery challenge but everything else seems to have fallen by the waysideI did list on ebay though, although no bids yet so may as well have saved my time and played with the kids :rotfl:!
Good luck with the essay, i'm so glad i've finished my degree and don't have to spend all my evenings reading 5 books at a time! I have to say though your subject sounds far more fun than mine was. Have a lovely day all!
