Around 150 names have been picked and a private message sent to them. If you entered the giveaway, please log into your username account to see if you've received a notification.
To do that click "log in" at the top right of your forum screen. Once you've logged in click on "Private Messages", also in the top right of your screen just under where it now says "Log Out".
The first 50 to follow the exact instructions in the private message will receive a copy of the title.
If I don't hear from at least 50 people by 10am Monday 24 January (with full, correct details), any remaining books will be given out on a first come first served basis (subject to whether you've received a book in previous giveaways, though it's worth private messaging anyway as if there are many copies left over, you may still get one) at a later point. So please be quick!

Please DO NOT send me a private message if YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION FROM ME. Just keep an eye on this thread, it'll be updated with details of how to request a leftover copy, if there are any, at some point on or after 10 January.

If you're interested, just reply to this (click on 'post reply') and say:
"Oh la la! Je voudrais un de ces livres!"
Translation: "Wow! I would love one of these books!"
Translation: "Wow! I would love one of these books!"
To do this you need to be registered for the Forum (if you're not, when you click reply you'll be taken through the process. It's free, of course).
APPEAL: Please ONLY reply to this thread if you will check your private messages to see if you've won a copy during week commencing Monday 17 January 2011. If you don't get in contact promptly you won't receive a copy and if there are any remaining books they'll be given away. This thread will be updated when the winners have been selected.
But bear in mind 150 names are being picked and there are only 50 books (because sadly not everyone gets in touch, so doing it this way helps to speed up the administration process), so you'll have to get in quick.
Also, please DON'T email in as your name won't be counted. Nor include your contact details in this thread as, for your own safety, we don't allow personal details on the public forum so your post may be deleted.
This giveaway appears in the weekly email (if you don't already get the email go to www.moneysavingexpert.com/tips) and will close on Monday 17 January so please get your posts in before then.

The book's blurb...
"If you buy into the Pepe Le Pew stereotype of the French – arrogant, stuffy, overly amorous, and rather odiferous (Pepe Le Pew was a skunk. Talk about stereotypical!) – then think again. Not only are the French people some of the most relaxed, pleasant people you′ll ever meet, but their society is one of the oldest, most culturally rich societies in the world.
So it's no surprise that French is known as perhaps the most beautiful of all languages. Listen to someone speak French – sure, you don′t have a clue what she′s saying, but aren't you enraptured by the sound of it?
Unfortunately, just because a language is beautiful doesn't mean that it's easy to learn. Although French has many things in common with English, French has had many, many centuries to evolve into the language it is today, which means it's had all that time to become more complex. That's where French For Dummies can help. Written in partnership with the language experts at Berlitz, this book can give you what you need for basic communication in French."

How will the people be chosen?
150 people will be picked at random (we've a special little computer programme to do it) and a private message will be sent to each of their winning usernames requesting their FULL NAME, USERNAME and ADDRESS details (there'll be an email address to send this information to, we don't want it done via private messages).
The FIRST 50 people to get back to me with ALL THE REQUIRED INFORMATION will win a copy of the book.
The giveaway has a strict one entry per household policy and entries can be deemed ineligible without any explanation or notification.
When will I get the book?
The publisher providing these books will send them out directly though, to aid administration, this won't happen until all 50 winners have provided their name and address. So it may take a several weeks between the giveaway's end and actual receipt. This thread will be updated to let winners know when they have been sent out.
