MSE's greatest saving to date

MoneySavingExperts greatest saving to date could be on its way. This morning there was a link on the BBC news website to a campaign to say no to the London 2012 campaign. The signatures were mounting up and then it disappeared from the site. I am sure this was just a techie glitch but if you wish to save the country significant sums of money - read the petition and make your own mind up.

The no to London2012 petition can be found at
http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?nolympic&1
Obviously if you back the bid and are happy to spend the millions, in the interests of fairnes you can go to the https://www.london2012.org/en website

My own view is the government doesn't do enough to promote sporting events etc - rather than try and stop it I would like to see them do more!

Its good for the country as a whole and gives us a "sense of pride". We dwell too much on "saving money".... you need to speculate to accumulate! Anyhow not everything has to be profitable financially to be worthwhile.

When you compare the UK to other countries we promote very little, centrally fund very little and do not celebrate as a country.

The 2012 bid if successful would create jobs and interest in the sports concerned (which is good for the young people of the country that need to become more active!).

'Watch this space' as they say for who's going to be involved in the organisation of it! All I'll say is (in th eJohn Cleese style) " Don't mention the Millennium Dome/projects fiascos!"
