So sorry you came back to that news SL:mad: I am pleased that you are taking the moral high ground and keeping your own counsel. You know it's the right thing to do, you mustn't copy what you don't approve of however much you feel like it!
It's a disgrace that he was mouthing off in front of DS2 but it won't take long for your DSs (assuming they haven't already) to get the measure of him. They must be disgusted that he's making life difficult for you.
When this is all done and dusted (and it won't be too long now) you can walk away with your settlement with your head held high. You'll be happy, have your own home, be in control of your own finances and have 3 DSs who love and respect you for your exemplary behaviour. What will he have?0 -
Hello everyone - hi Maman. You're absolutely right, I won't stoop to his level. He can take all the time in the world now, in a few weeks I'll be able to move into the new house, which means DS3 can come and go as he pleases. If things take months to sort themselves out, then so be it - I'm going home :T
Ok...........despite all my best efforts, I'm not doing very well on the MSE front (I spent about £200 in B'pool) so I'm going to stop getting stressed out about things I can't change. I can't force H to complete his paperwork - let the Sols worry about it!
Instead I'm going to concentrate on something I CAN change. No more messing about, I need to save money, so tonight I've decided to have an "extreme" wardrobe clearout. My life is completely different now so what's the point in hanging on to clothes I'll never get the opportunity to wear again. Look out ebay!
I'm also wondering if its worth looking for a second job (evenings) or would I just get clobbered with paying loads of tax on the extra earnings?
I'm rubbish at keeping up with my spending diary, so I'm going to type them all up here for all to see.
Today's spends:-
Newspaper 30
Closer Magazine 1.30
Biccies 1.79 (my turn to buy for the others)
Pasta 79
Diet Coke 80
So far am sticking to the food budget with £80 left till payday on the 24th and a fridge/freezer full of food :T

Well tonight, I've listed 4 more items on ebay, gone through all my clothes and bags, and photographed loads more.
If I hadn't already had my LBM, I would've definitely had one tonight. I came across two of the same item of clothing (different colours), both with tags attached - original price £85 - both unworn
How stupid have I been?!
These things didn't even make me happy. Happines comes from things you can't buy, like seeing my boys, standing on my own two feet for the first time and seeing my "emergency fund" growing away nicely.
If that sounded cheesy I'm sorry, but sometimes the penny drops so loudly, I'm surprised you can't all hear it

Very nicely put SL.
I think it's great that your ebaying all that stuff. As well as the money for your fund it'll be good to get rid of your old life and all its bad memories. You can always buy some new things come the summer. Summer clothes can be quite cheap, relatively speaking, so you could buy a few things to look good without breaking the bank!
When you move it won't be too long before DS3 goes on study leave and he'll have loads of time to pop round to see you! Well done on your grocery budget for this month. I just had the thought that it won't be so easy to keep to it when DS3's calling round all the time:eek::rotfl:
My plan is to buy some new stuff for the spring/summer. Not too much but just a few new things as many of my clothes (especially trousers) are virtually falling off now I've lost some weight. I've not quite finished yet so don't want to buy any expensive stuff until next winter probably. We're planning a weekend in........Blackpool:D in April. It's a family 'do' organised by my DH's uncle so it's a bit of a duty thing but I plan to enjoy myself. I'm also off to Paris for a few days in a couple of weeks so lots of nice things to look forward to.0 -
Good evening, I hope everyone had a good day

Mine's been eventful (in a couple of ways!).
Was full of good intentions to list a few more bits on ebay this evening, but I've been stocktaking all day and I'm exhausted.
Confession time...............I spent £3.95 on Cod & Chips........and they were lovely
Maman - tackling the weight is the next item on my list of things to improve. I'm a size 14/16 so I don't have a huge amount to lose. Just a stone or so would give me more confidence, so hopefully when I move I'll be able to do more walking. I live right in the middle of these lovely mountains and I'm too unfit to enjoy them
Before DS3 went on holiday, he asked me if he could use my paypal to pay for a game he wanated to dowload onto his phone to keep him occupied on the bus journey. It only cost £1 so I told him to go ahead and gave him my details.
I checked my emails this morning and saw one from paypal. The wording went along the lines of "you have signed up for a pre-arranged payment plan"
I thought............"no I haven't!".........so I called them straight away. Apparently when the kids download these apps to their phones, in taking payment from paypal, the company also gains authorisation to debit up to £1,034 from your paypal or bank account :eek::eek:
They wouldn't have had to ask for further authorisation till they exceeded that amount.
I told the paypal advisor that DS3 probably hadn't bothered reading the T&Cs, but she said that more often than not, these companies don't even show their T&Cs, so probably not DS3's fault.
How unscrupulous is that!!??
Fair play to paypal, I know they get a lot of bad press but she was very helpful and cancelled it straightaway. I also phoned the mobile phone company and put a block on DS3 downloading anything else while he's away. Managed to get hold of DS3 to explain all this to him and to warn him not to use that app again under any circumstances! Turns out about half his classmates had downloaded the same thing.
Kids.................they manage to cause trouble even when they're on a different continent :rotfl:
So that was today's excitement! Its hard enough hanging on to my pennies without these greedy conmen trying to help themselves to more. No harm done luckily!Total debt at LBM £26k+Total debt now £16,494.40Tesco CC 11/2/11 Total - £1,387.20 - Now £00 -
            Unbelieviable isent it.

Thank goodness you were able to cancel it. The money you potentially could have lost certainly puts your cod & chips into perspective! So glad you enjoyed it:)
When you're ready to lose weight, I can certainly recommend Slimming World. I've never been on any sort of diet before and what I love about this is it's very healthy food and there's loads to eat.0 -
Hi SL, been catching up. Glad Blackpool was good.
Kids are great aren't they, my treasure left his mobile on the bus but did not tell us as he thought he had left it at home (contract in my name) and it wasn't until I got the £875 bill and asked him why he had been phoning Pakistan every day for 3 weeks that it came to light!!!! You have inspired me to list on Ebay, I hate listing even though it never takes long, like the pennies it produces though!!

I don't really know how to start this post, so I'll just get straight to the point.
I've been really stupid AGAIN.........I've run up a bill on my CC to the tune of £1,387.20.
I can't tell you how angry I am at myself, I'm sure you can imagine.
I wasn't going to post about this, but having thought about it (all night), I can't see a point in keeping a diary if I'm not going to be honest.
I've returned over £200 worth of stuff which will be credited back onto the card, but I just feel so stupid having blown all that hard work!
Even though I don't really "know" all the people on here, I feel like I've let my friends down.
This is so typical of me. I can just hear what H would say
Paying H maintenance for DS3, buying all his clothes and the cost of petrol (£50 per week) is just crippling me. I've been using it to fill up the car, but I've also been using it to buy bits and bobs for the house to cheer myself up. Buying stuff to make myself feel better is how I got into trouble in the first place. I've obviously still got the same issues!
I've cleared it once, I can do it again...........I just shouldn't have put myself in this situation again :mad::mad:.
I never will again, thats a promise.
Spendtoomuch - nice to hear from you again. I'll be ebaying anything that isn't nailed down from now on to get rid of this bill. I believe its free listing on ebay this weekend.
This has shown me that I definitely need a second income. I went round all the charity shops yesterday and bought four items. I won't tell you what they were, but I've set myself an experiment. If I can make a profit on all four items, I'm going to look into opening an ebay shop selling "preloved clothes". I'm sure there's money to be made out of this if you do it properly.Total debt at LBM £26k+Total debt now £16,494.40Tesco CC 11/2/11 Total - £1,387.20 - Now £00 -
Oh SL don't beat yourself up too much, you have recognised the problem before it is too bad. I have done the same again, I try and be so careful and think I will just put one thing on it until I get paid and its lethal.
Good luck with the Ebay shop. I am sure it could work if you know how to find a bargain. I am going to make myself list two items a day, I find it so hard to motivate myself to list.
I am sitting here in agony, done the gym five times this week and a ten mile walk, the good news is I have lost 7 lb in a week though!! The pain is almost worth it!!
Have a fab weekend and keep posting xx0
