Glad everything went ok with the scan, are the hospitals still chargeing the "inflated" prices for scan pictures.
Your going great guns with the debt repayments eyc xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
I know sealed pots feel good but they're not earning any interest. You'd be better off using the spare cash to pay off your catalogue and then starting saving. It will get rid of this debt far faster and you'd be better off in the long run. Then you can add the money you were paying to your catalogue to your sealed pot and your savings will accumulate faster.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Thanks for the advice Moo2Moo!
On a good note its pay day and a very bad note it started snowing earlier and I have skidded and off roaded my car! It is currently abandonded in a field and I am waiting for a call from the insurance company about retrieving it so god knows how much this is going to cost!! Happy New year lasted all of one week - blah blah blah
Love a very Mardy Muffinxxx

Hiya,
Calmed down abit since my earlier post, although I do feel dreadful!
Anyway we must go on, so as it was pay day I have made the payment to the mortgage that I cocked up last month so thats sorted, and then I will have to make my usual payment later in the month and carry on as normal.
I need OH to cotact british gas and organise payment for gas and electric and then everything will be in order and I can carry on with the debt busting as planned!
Have listed one or two things on ebay so will get cracking with that... even more motivation for me now with the looming excess for the car!

Ah glad you're feeling calmer muffin...but how are you after the skid? How's the car?
Hope you have a good weekend! xxWandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -
Are you ok, hows the car, have you heard anything from the insurance company yet?
Good news that you have got the mortgage payment sorted out, def agree with moo2moo, the change would be better off going off the catalogue, even if you empty it monthly and put a little note in, then the end of yr u'd be surprised at how much you save.
DD has my loose change and 50ps, I bank it monthly for her, on a quiet month, I might only be banking £4 between the 2 qccounts, but then if we have been on holiday, the best month she made £50, thou mum and dad helped out with that one, but its change that I don't miss now, become 2nd nature. We're saving loose change so when shes older she'll have a little nest egg, and the 50ps as she wants to swim with the dolphins. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Hiya,
Im fine thanks - the insurance company organised my car be pulled out the ditch yesterday and its now at the garage, will have to wait and see whether its a write off or not!
I have also paid my Gas and Electric today - we had it on a quarterly option - stupid us! so has cost a small fortune, however the balance is now 0 so I can either have a direct debit or paypoint scheme, although I am going to use this opportunity to look at switching suppliers too!
I finally got my 2011 diary today (i ordered it from ebay) so now I am attempting to sort my life out - haha well get organised! Got lots of coloured postet notes so been filling in the dates my bills and out goings go out... also added when insurance is due for renewal etc and put everyones birthdays in
Hope all you other debt busters are well!

Hi again,
I have just paid 12.23 off the catalogue which takes it down to £70 - my payment due date is 28th Jan so it works out at 3.68 a day so will be looking at ways of raising / saving this so I can have the account settled by the end of the month! I have some bits on ebay and plan to add more so thats a start im thinking I need to become stricter with NSD and packed lunches for work!
Any other suggestions appreciated!

Don't know if your signed up to any survey companies, know they won't pay out straight away, but help in the future.
Have you signed upto cash back sites, Quidco and Topcashback are the two I use, I only just started topcashback, so don't know how quick they are at paying out, but have had no problems with quidco.
Some of the cashback sites have freebies - such as sign up to offers, order free sim cards, even join a dateing agency, I opened a seperate email address, so it kept them in one place.
Sounds like your well on track, with Jans payments, taking lunch soon save the pennies, and ebay should help.xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
How about Toluna? Alot of people from the nifty, gifty christmas site use it to make a bit of extra cash.0
