Oh...I have a cupboard full of jam beacuse my Mum & MiL keep making it & we don't eat it much...this could be a winner if someone can come up with the recipe?;)

I have just searched too but the search facility hates me at the best of times so unsuprisingley I came up empty handed (should that be blank monitored?)

I'm sure I saved this in my file somewhere.....

    hang on a sec.....

    is this it?

    Jam Crumblie

    6oz butter/marg
    6oz dark soft brown sugar
    60z porridge oats
    7oz plain flour
    pinch of salt
    1/2 tsp baking powder
    4oz jam

Lightly grease an 8" square baking dish (I use my ceramic "Lasagne" dish as it's microwave safe)
Cream the fat and sugar together.
Stir in the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.
Press half of the mixture into the baking dish.
Melt the jam in the microwave for 30 secs and then spread the jam over the base.
Crumble on the remaining oat mixture, pressing it down lightly.
Bake in the microwave for 7 minutes (full power).
Cut into squares and cool in the baking dish.

For that you'd need Queenie. I just copied and pasted....ready for my marathon cooking session over the next few weeks when I start to get bored on maternity leave.

I've made these several times in the oven at Gas Mark 4 for approx 25 minutes. They're really good!
