hmm so not feeling great about money situation. seems everytime i get on track more things pop up. due to splurge in dec and not doimg usial budget etc.. when moving house have not got any left over weekly spends to use to help towards cost of weekends away. ashamed to say that on the day before pay day i was £550 extra in debt from overdraft and credit card bill (this includes the tax bill). over £100 of this was on train tickets and hotel for my up coming weekends away.

on wed i got a blast from the past as two members of staff that i got on well with at camp said they had got on a standby flight and would be in london for one day for a reunion in the evening. now i couldnt really afford it but had not seen them for 4.5 years so was not going to turn down the opportunity! as was last min train cost £45 which is £5 more than weekly budget! spent about another £30 on taxis and drinks in the pub which i thought was not too bad. had made £20 selling stuff on intranet and should get another £15 today. i withdrew £50 as well as paying for the train but as i did nit spend that much and had a small amount left over from last week i have £45 in my purse. i will therefore use that for next weeks spends so means i am only £15 over budget as a result.

however, i am off to london again on 12th for the day for lunch at ivy and to see a show. then the following weekend i am off to reading for the night for uni friends bday. i have paod £39 for the hotel so friend will give me half when we get there but the train is over £50, never mind how much drinks, dinner etc.. will be! then two weeks later i am off to manchester. have bought train and got free first night in hotel. still need to pay £50 for second hotel night and salsa event (includes dinner) but need money for rest of weekend as well.

is despressing as got none built up to save for these so feels like i am always over budget! grrr! weekend away after these is not til may i think so shouldnt have many more big spends! its most of my friends turns to visit me now so whilst we will pay for dinner, drinks, activities theres no hotel or train to pay for!

on other news my friend has collected the sun tokens and asked if me and another friend want to go to cornwall. so decided i am not going abroad this year as was planning week or so in spain but tbh i would be wishing i was in new zealand, south america etc... so decided to just do this holiday. means i will need max £250 for the week (think this is over estimate) so as i budgeted £500 i will need £250 less. also as i will only need to pay about £14 for the holiday i can save the rest nearer the time as dont need to book hotel and flights.

hmmm i think i have lost the motivation to post regularly! means i have lost count of nsd's :( must try harder :A

not much to report, not spent too much. off to london sat so will have my £40 weekly spend plus £20 in my purse. will prob need to get a little bit more out. am selling some drawers for £15 on sunday :)

also i have managed to get three sat overtime so should clear £100 a day i think :) so not too fussed if i go slightly over budget as long as its only a little bit! should get one sat and the evening i did the other week in my march pay and then the next two sats in my april pay. petrol is awful though as already spent £90 :eek::eek: £30 over budget but i will get over £30 back from work so will even out eventually!

will be the end of my month next thur (17th) as paid on fri. so will update sig etc... provided they sort my payrise and backpay i am on track to clear the loan 2 to dad. there should be some left if my calculations are correct so i will prob transfer that to my saving account until the following month to make it up to £500 (unless i have £500 left). i will then pay off my overdraft and reduce the limit but prob leave the overdraft at £100 limit incase of emergancies (but not to be used day to day).

then the plan is to pay all money to dad loan 1 except £250 for holiday and about £140 for my insurance. then continue to pay dad and really hope to have this cleared by dec 31st 2010 :)

then just need to pay mum and can book new zealand! yey :D

on other exciting news dad came over at weekend to look at leaky shower and he decided to go in my loft (i have not been in since moving in) and he found some more bathroom tiles (handy as he had to smash some to get under shower tray). also found my living room door! all the doors downstairs had been removed and i wanted one on the living room but couldnt afford to buy one and get it fitted! so he just slotted it back on its hinges :D just need to sand and wax it when weather is nicer! so v happy :D

    lol oops unfortunately i meant 2011 :(

lol no its some canvas drawers. just got £15 for them :)

so had a lovely day yest in london. nice cheap lunch at the ivy- only £45  it was lunch time but we had a full meal and desert. was really yum :)

then went to see woman in black which was good but scary

blew the budget a bit but i well :o

on other budget news, this will be the first month ever i have stuck to my food budget! 5 days till payday and i have £8.5 left! will not need to spend that as only need milk, bread and oranges!

have over spent on petrol by about £30 but will be getting over £50 back from work in march so not too bad.

decided to change the months for MS to be the same as my pay rather than jan, feb etc... as makes sense for it to be the same as wages.

so been paid today. needless to say bank account bare yesterday!

have paid dad £188 today for loan 1 and £200 for loan 2

need to clear my cc but as i couldnt pay in full and they will charge full interest anyway thought will do it next month. will give breathing space as well due to extra costs from weekends away.

on a plus note i down branded my coffee today. used top but alta rica at over £3 per jar. bought tesco own brand coffee for 93p and its quite nice :) so will stick to that!

ended up with £2.70 of food budget left last month!

spent way over in petrol but got a full tank and over £60 to be reimbursed in next months pay!

so decided to do my MS earrnings in the same way my pay month is so from 19th jan to 17th feb i earnt £166.50. not good :( got a few booked in as well as my regulars so hope it picks up! main problem is due to weekends away and overtime at work cant really do many at w/e. still i am earning more in overtime then i do doing that so all good. will earn at least £150 in overtime from during that period :D

  • hmmm so not a happy clippy :( only got paid a week ago and no money :( logged onto banking earlier and my lodgers rent has not gone in! she has not mentioned it so assume she has forgot or is not aware, will have to let her know! main problem is lots of dd due tuesday so if the money from her doesnt go in then i will only have £50 left over my overdraft (and that using the extra £300 chargeable overdraft ) even when she gives me the money that will all go towards manchester next weekend and the sky bill and more petrol!

so looks like i will end the month an extra £300 in overdraft and then i still have the £500 cc bill :eek::eek:

these last few months have really taken their toll on me :( will not be booking any more weekends away or planing anything that costs a lot. think part of the problem is rough calculations before bought house looked like i would only be paying out what i was paying in rent (taking into account lodgers rent). actually i have calculated all my house bills snd i pay over £160 month extra but still do weekends away etc!

problem is i have £40 week spends and i planned if i had any left over this would go in pot so that if i had occasional expensive weekends i could use it then so my budget would not suffer.

as i only started new budget when i got back from hol i had not built any extra to use towards these weekends i have had recently.

as i have overspent so much think i will reduce weekly spend to £25 and will give myself this each week.

will not book any weekends away til i get paid in may i think and will ensure i stick to budget! will need to carry on paying the £188 to dad for loan one and then some towards loan 2. think will give £150 to dad next month on payday as should be getting £200 extra wage for petrol and overtime. at the end of that paymonth will pay all left to credit card and then tackle overdraft. in my april pay hoping my backdated payrise will go through and will get about £1000 which can clear the remainder of loan 2!

big aim is by the time i am paid in july i will have cleared dad loan 2, overdraft and the credit card so i only owe loan one and mum. fingers crossed! :(
