Has anyone tried the new John Frieda mousse?

Hi,just wondering if anyone has tried the new John Frieda permanent colour mousse. I have dark brown hair, with a few grey hairs, especially at my parting. I'm not sure what colour to go for,and does it cover all the grey?
Thanks:)

I tried it, I got one free on facebook:DIt is a lovely product super easy to apply and excellent coverage, you seem to get lots of product and the greys are gone, gone, gone! I have used nice and easy for years and while I still like that product I noticed my greys were coming through quicker and quicker and my hair was a little dull so I felt I needed a change, I tried to match my usual colour but beware, the mouse one came out a lot darker! Fortunately I like the colour and was in need of a change anyway (I'm giving myself a mini makeover/update atm), the one thing that really made me love this product was the condition of my hair afterwards and for several washes, it really has made it lovely and soft and so far no fading (its been about 2 weeks) - hth:)

Just to be clear than , this is a hair dye in mousse form?

When I read the thread title , I was thinking styling mousse with a hint of colour!
  • Glowgirl - Do you have to use ALL the mousse in one go or can you use the bottle to keep applying to the roots over the weeks?

I too was lucky and got mine free from facebook, can't use mine just yet as recently coloured my hair so i want to wait a bit longer and will try it, but from what i am hearing, those messy home hair kit nightmares are soon to be over.

Although i still wouldn't touch black with a barge pole.

I used the whole lot but it was a struggle there was so much of it I have just past the shoulder wavy/curly thick hair, the product is in liquid form when you mix it and then you squeeze the bottle and it comes out as a foam, my hair was saturated but not dripping it was really easy and I think that extra bit of product did give my colour a richness, dd also dyes her hair but its very long and I think she would only need one of these where she usually needs two nice n easy, also for my hair to be in such lovely condition after dying it is unheard of as I am prone to frizz to say the least, I would however suggest you do the old trick of buying a shade or two lighter than you actually want to go presuming its a darker colour, I wouldnt know about blonde:)

Bronnie, yes its a new permanant hair colour that is applied as a mouse:)

  • I've used this too and I love it! I have long (read bra strap length hair) hair and although it's fine there is a lot of it, and I struggled to use up the bottle! It has given a lovely coverage and have had many compliments on the colour! I used the dark red brown and its a gorgeous shade, very natural with a reddy hint shimmering through IYSWIM.

I won one on the Facebook comp, won another voucher from something else and also bought one for the knockdown price of £5 on superdrug (although i forgot to add the free gift at the time grr) will definitely be using again x

I just used this this week after years of sticking to nice and easy and the ilk - and Im impressed

Full coverage - no greys anywhere

    Great condition as well

So easy to apply - I sat on the living room carpet in front of the tv - and didnt make a mess anywhere

My one complaint - Im not so hot on the colour. I tried the chocolate brown and its not as I thought. Perhaps its reacted to the colours I had in already or I left it on too long, I dont know. Next time I will stick to the natural medium brown

I've been thinking about trying this and have been looking at different places on the internet where people have tried it and I have seen only positive feedback.

I'm just waiting till my hair needs dying again before I try it out for myself but I am definitely going to give it a try :)

  • Hi everyone, Re John Frieda foam hair colour experience

I was an 'dark ash blonde' but wanted to add some warmth so thought to try John Frieda Light golden brown. The side of the pack illustrated the change between dark blonde to expected colour results, and on the strength of the illustrations I bought the product to try.

For me - There was a combination of good and bad results.
Good Results: the foam was easy to apply, no smell to tell of, there was enough of the product. and the condition, shine and vibrance of colour is excellent. Bad results: the colour did not come out the warm golden brown - or a shade darker - it came out the darkest brown with crimson highlights. For me it was a bit of a shock.

I phoned up John Frieda advice line. the advice I was given - use a medicated shampoo a few times (leaving the shampoo on the hair for a few minutes each time) To lift some of the colour out - leave for a few weeks and try their blonde 8A. (I did not want to be a light blonde!! hmm)

I asked if they had any idea why such a contrast to the colour on the packet to the resulting colour. They did not know but thought it may be that I was finding the colour dark after being blonde. I disagree with that comment particularly as I put strands of my hair next to the colour illustrated on the box and found there was no similarity.

The results for me mean that I would be apprehensive about using John Frieda foam colour again, which is a shame as the condition of the hair strands were very good in comparison to other hair colours.

As I am due to have an operation in another eight days time _ I could have done without this.... So another lesson in there methinks !!!
