evening all,
well at the last time i checked my credit rating was horrendous..below 60 iirc this was 1 month ago.
i have since paid the outstanding default and i have paid of a considerable amount of my credit card which i am currently under a repayment plan,
fortunatley due to a new job i am in a position to clear the entire card by next month.
my question is how long will it take for my rating to improve enough to get either a loan or a car on finance.
will my bank be my best option when they see a constant (relatively high) wage going in to my account?
many thanks.

Have a read here of how to improve your credit file - http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/loans/credit-rating-credit-score
Are you on the electoral roll?
Really depends on what it shows, when was the default entered on your file? It will stay on for 6years from that date, although some providers do differentiate between settled defaults and unsettled. Do you have any other defaults, CCJs, late payments showing?
Usually your bank is the best place for high street credit, assuming you run your account well and don't constantly live in an overdraft.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
