Kitchen Aid v Kenwood
Which would you choose?
I was all set to buy a Kenwood Premier then today got a deal on Amazon for KItchen Aid Classic!
Decisions!
btw, posted my question on Kenwood thread apologies.

Based on appearance I'd go for a kitchenaid - I really want a red one but they are too expensive0

I have a kitchen aid and love it however I've had it just over 2 years now and at slower speeds it doesn't sound quite right. Not sure exactly what's up with it but once it did stop, made a funny sound and wouldn't turn back on for ages. It does work fine now but I am expecting it to break at some point. I use it quite a lot though, a couple of times a week or so.0

I have a Kitchenaid but also have had a Kenwood Chefette (in the past!) and also have a hand held Kenwood. I think both are good and when I was deciding which one to have, my friend said to me...." you only see Kitchenaids on cookery programmes!" I`m happy with mine- works perfectly.0

I have Kitchenaid Classic and love it. I make up batches of pastry mix and freeze it - so easy , also does cakes and meringues a treat.0

I've used both and liked both, but I've only ever owned a Kenwood Chef.
However in the professional kitchens I've worked in, they have all had at least one Kenwood Chef. My boss has just bought a couple of new ones to go along with our big Hobart mixer. But I've never seen a Kitchen Aid in the kitchen of a restaurant or catering college.
Kitchen Aids are definitely prettier though...0 -
There is a huge discussion on Amazon community re this very question.
I know I read it the other night, consensus seems to be Kenwood but its a close call.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

Kim, you've asked about power difference in the Amazon thread. they have different drive systems so you can't compare clearly. The chef has a belt system so the motor is remote to the bits that move (technical eh?). Whereas iirc, the KA has a direct drive system which I think is more effective thus needs less power in.
I decided on the Chef and we did feel the Classic was under powered compared to the ordinary Artisan model.
What did you decide?Piglet

I had the same dilema a few months ago kenwood or kitchen aid, i had waited years to be able to buy one, the look of the kitchen aid swayed me and i orderd it in cream, i was soo pleased when it arrivesd BUT i had nothing but trouble with it , yes the customer service was good but it was a pain having to send it back all the time then they sent me the wrong machine back NIGHTMARE
So i called amazon big thumbs up to them they refunded me in full and im now the proud owner of a kenwood titanium chef and i have to say :j:T:j:T
I love love love it, wouldnt have anyhting else now, and it also came with the blender (glass) and food processor attatchment.0
