Nigella's chilli jam

It will keep for pretty much ever - as it is sugar and cider vinegar....and it is boiled up and put into sterilised jars.
However, ours gets used up in a few weeks;it's so popular.
I made 5 batches last year from home grown chilis, plus whenever I find an offer on bags of chilis I buy a load and make another batch.
It's so easy it's insane!If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
Can you make this in a metal pan? I know some things you can't due to the oxidisation or something. Also when I googled Nigella's recipe it doesn't mention chilli flakes just fresh chillies, are you kind people suggesting using chilli flakes instead? I want to make some as presents so thought best check to get it right.

Metal jam pans are fine.
Chilis are better to be honest; the chili flakes are talking about a different recipe. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -

I did Nigella's Chilli Jam. It made four average jam jars full (can't tell you the size as I soaked the labels off). It was easy to do, and tastes wonderful. I use it with cheese and cold meats in sandwiches and drizzled over Chicken before cooking, it goes all sticky and gorgeous.
I wholly recommend the Nigella one, but then again, I've not made any others, so have nothing to compare it to. It tastes nice and it's easy to do - that's good enough for me.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!
