M&S deal of the day - half price iviewer tv and bluray player

Comments

  • Thanks for pointing this out OP!

Just ordered one of the Bluray players - have been looking for one for ages under £100 which can be hacked for multi region DVDs, and from what I've found online this one looks like it fits the bill, and seems to get really good reviews.

£79 delivered (used free delivery code FREEDL50) and managed to use up a £20 gift card we got as a wedding gift - bargain!

    The same one?

I can only see the BDP2500 (£97) and BDP3100 (£127) on ASDA's website. This is from Martin's newsletter earlier this year: -
    Philips Blu-ray player £77 instore.
    Philips BDP2500, available from ASDA
As part of ASDA's January sale, this Philips BDP2500 is reduced to £77 in some stores, or online* (£4.95 delivery). It's a 'Profile 1.1' player, which means it doesn't offer BD-Live functionality, i.e. connecting to the web to download or stream additional Blu-Ray content. Yet if you just want to play high def Blu-Ray discs you won't find a cheaper name-brand player.

If you do want the Profile 2.0 functionality, Richer Sounds has limited stock of the Philips BDP3000 for £89.95, but you'll have to phone ahead to track one down. Otherwise you can get it for £97 delivered or instore from Sainsbury* or John Lewis*.
I am not at all technical but sounds like this is a better player. Or do you thinks we should we be cancelling our orders?
  • Do you have to commit to checkout(in other words---buy it) before the 50% discount comes off---I would not like to commit and then find it is full price (it's now one day later). many thanks

It was only available at that price yesterday, I'm afraid.
