Ok so I haven't heard anything from Mr S for a while so hoping second boiler fixing man has turned up. Fingers crossed.
Tonight I will be mostly..
Tootling (making final decision on piece for lesson, probably going for the easier one)
Reading some stuff about zombies (philosophical zombies, which are sadly not as exciting as horror movie ones)
Dyeing my hair (if we have hot water.. attempting to go back to something resembling my natural colour, so this could be interesting!)
Eating stir fry
Figuring out what to cook tomorrow with lots of beetroot that is ready to pick
Figuring out what to put in place of the beetroot.
I think that'll do!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Remember beetroot leaves are edible, and can be used raw in salads or cooked like spinach
Hope you like the return to the natural hair colour.0 -

Can't you use beetroot as hair dye??0

I *love* notebooks! I always have a little tiny one and a tiny pencil. I have some lovely books that I use for work that have a little pocket at the back for receipts.
As I posted on my diary - I did a telephone survey yesterday that earned me a fiver, but I stick to just a couple of companies now.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Chucked a few beetroot leaves in the stir fry last night
Cheery, that's an idea... although I imagine it would be quite messy! As it is, what was supposed to be 'very light brown' came out quite dark brown, but at least it's blended in the variety of colours a bit! Hot water is working.. sort-of... boiler needs a new part but we've got a temporary fix for the moment.
Gill - I am funny with notebooks, I love really nice ones but then I'm reluctant to start using them because I feel like I'm messing them up with my scribbling
Surveys... hmmm tried to do four yesterday and didn't qualify for any - grr!
Pretty much did what I planned to do last night, except work out what to do with beetroot, probably just have it roasted with something. Tootling practice was a bit  - bit nervous about lesson plus FAR too hot in the house, my fingers were slipping off the keys! Remembered Mr S still had a digital video camera that he'd used for something to do with work so decided to film myself to see if I could spot any bad habits - very interesting, some things were a lot better than I perceived them but I did spot a few silly things I was doing!
Today - some work I MUST finish and a quite important meeting (at lunchtime, but no lunch provided, hmmph). Then tootling and reading tonight. And quite possibly melting.. hot again!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
I can relate to the not-wanting-to-use a nice notebook! I'm (mostly) over it now, but it definitely rings a chord.
I'm hearing a lot about roasted beetroot at the mo ... you skin it first?2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

I generally don't bother to skin it - maybe if they're really big/ tough.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
OK, I have broken the 'new notebook curse' by writing down a load of nonsense about stuff that was going round my head..
Didn't plan very well on the shop the other day and had to buy lunch today - went for £1.50 Boots pasta pot (and quite amused myself by putting this in my spending diary as "Pasta Boots")
Work is really quite annoying today but off to big meeting in a mo.. which could be great or awful, we'll see!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Big meeting went rather well - people asked me my opinion.. and listened..
Just bought a load of seedsHave been planning things to plant now for winter and got a little bit carried away (well what are you to do when the place you want to buy seeds from has a minimum order of £8...)... they will all get used over the next couple of years anyway, I'm sure. I'm particularly looking forward to the Sutherland Kale which can apparently withstand hailstorms and all sorts.
Anyway, hometime!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0
